But yeah we should just remove all the risky aspects of his game that help make him who he is because sometimes it doesn't work.

Yes what would we do without all those non-existent high reward plays that result from Jack throwing the puck across our own slot? And no doubt that the one penalty he’s drawn while dangling at the blue line over the last two years offsets the many turnovers and goals against it’s resulted in over that timeframe.

On the plus side, younger guys gained experience and made some plays.

In reality, however, best on best was not close when the game was on the line in the first period.

At no point did it seem like NJ had a chance to win the game.

Love how PK is the leader on this team but too many passengers amongst the so-called leadership group.

Rest of the season, and particularly the four-game series with the Rangers, can get ugly quickly. Particularly if Kulikov and/or Murray are traded.

Did Vatanen have a good game? I missed most of the game but caught a couple of his shifts in the third and thought he looked good. Also watched his assist. Just wondering because if he played like his old self tonight that could push a team over the edge to trade for him.

Thought Boqvist was going to score right before the empty netter
Boqvist has impressed me this week or two. He's looking much more comfortable. He belongs in the league. I like his size and his skating, his hands and the fluid way he handles the puck. He has good vision. If we are looking for heavier players he has size and reach. He's young but a very welcome development.

Meanwhile I hope Zacha is okay. Anyone know why he left the game? He's having such a nice year, it would be good if he got to finish it without missing significant time.

It was definitely one of his best games this season. Seemed like Vats of old. Motivation is one hell of a drug (re waivers)

Its crazy. I know refs are human but how many directly awful and impactful calls can they do in one game.
It's a joke. The kids deserve better. I am fine with the mistakes and shooting themselves in the foot at times. Everyone says "you can't give Pitt free power plays, no wonder we lose." The refs aren't doing their job and haven't been for a very long time. The rules literally got read on air and all criteria was matched. Yet the rules don't get enforced. The icings on Wood? No one was in the stratosphere as the guy. I like Ruff and think he has actually done a great job overall this year. But I would LOVE if he would lean into a ref. I would be get ejected, after watching the Rust hit on Merkley last game. Pitiful, player safety is just all talk.

So not sure what makes up these scores but how come Blackwood seems to be our only negative?
This team has more negatives then positives. Not a blackwood fan, but this shitfest of a season isn't on anyone with wood in their last name.
Coaches suck, we went cheap, and got cheap.
Defense is non existent.
Pk needs to go
LACK OF TALENT
Management is horrible (they focus more on the basketball team, and politics then the devils)
List goes on.

He's going to be a player, sad last season was basically wasted for him.

I agree with all your points. Handling our own mistakes is one thing... But the other stuff...

The icing call was so egregious. It wasnt one of those "close ones". He was literally a full position ahead AT LEAST

Made some plays. Believe he was on the ice for three of the five goals, however.

As the poster above said, one of his better games this year. That also speaks to his play for much of the season.

I don't know how they didn't correct themselves and move it to center. There was another one after that that definitely was nowhere near as bad but I still thought was bad.

Considering how great his defensive numbers have been this year it's more than fair to say that his risk taking hasn't gotten in the way.

Yes had a good game.

But the Pitt player he was on the ice the least against? Crosby.

So played some pretty easy comp. But maybe potential trade partners don't look into matchups? I doubt it.
