Yeah, that’s a lot for a rental Savard...
Still positional need for them and probably the best one on the market.
I guess they had to pay for cap retention. I always thought Savard was a bitch to play against.Yeah, that’s a lot for a rental Savard...

Why did they need Detroit to get involved? Would Columbus not trade directly to Tampa? Lashoff and a 4th don't seem like additions to the overall deal that needed to happen.
Yeah, I agree.He’s a rental though. That’s a shitload for a rental.

That retention is incredibly valuable. It let's them keep an Anthony Cirelli type player instead of having to downgrade elsewhere to make room for Savard. He’s a rental though. That’s a shitload for a rental.
Today I learned that Dom L's stats at The Athletic says that Savard is basically as valuable as Ruhwedel (also Gudas, Russell to pick some other easily recognisable names). I don't think his model likes defensive dmen, but even so, kinda crazy.
I guess a double's history and worth pursuing but other than that, feel like keeping the picks was more likely to lead to more cups in Tampa...
