of course they won't get anything for one-year of mccutchen. they just got close to nothing for two years of gerrit cole.

they'll probably end up with 1,000 barry bonds jerseys to remind their fans how good they are at getting rid of talent.

Giants are creating a really small window with a group of players that used to be really good.

to be fair, their farm is pretty bad and can either make a last go with the bumgarner/posey core or trade everyone.

bringing in guys like longoria and mccutchen for basically nothing is not the end of the world.

Then they will blow smoke up the fans ass saying how those jerseys are vital to the rebuilding process.

Yeah one last gasp for the Giants before Shark and Cueto fall off a cliff.

I am fine with this. It makes the most sense to give it one last go with the Posegarner core and evaluate from there. Rebuild doesn't make much sense with all the money on the books and our farm system is already trash, so who cares if we lose a few more prospects.

The tear down will come one day, may as well savour Bumgarners prime.

Pirates fans are predictably really unhappy with the trade. A return to meaninglessness for the Pirates.

Considering how they kind of lucked into a winning team (for example, picking up diamond in the rough/cheap type pick ups in Burnett and Martin when they won 90+ games in 2013) i imagine it's gonna be a long time before the Pirates are relevant again.

Edit: Pittsburgh apparently isn't done. Teams are kicking the tires on Josh Harrison as well
