TSN Radio Pierre McGuire: Jason Arnott could be a good fit for Maple Leafs.

Arnott would be a good bottom six leadership guy.

+1, leadership, off ice motivation, tips on the road, how to do x, don't use that escort service in this city cause x, etc... Leafs need a guy like this. TML has clearly lacked any real veteran presence since Mats left.

No.... not at all. The team already has too many bottom 6 players to the point where we have literally a 5th forward line.

Leafs already have a near~ $10 mil in cap occupied in a 5th line of Connolly, Lombadri and Steckel..

That is not very good cap space utilization on a team that hopes to be improving and competing for a playoff spot.

Adding Arnott would only push more $$ down the roster.

Another race to the bottom player at the tail end of his career, since I am really hoping we finish in the bottom 4, sign him up. Not the player he once was but he is a leader and this team has none, so he can help in the room I suppose.
general rule of thumb is opposite what you say, but this one is tough because of your reasoning

Dont see any room. Lineup is to full right now. Maybe if a deal was made, id love to have him, but just doesnt fit right now. The way i see the line-up

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
Mac-Grabo-Kulemin
Jvr-Mcclement-Komorov
Conolly-Steckel-Brown

That lineup actually looks solid lol. I think we'd swap Mac for JVR in lines 2/3 and could probably have a better forth line but a second line of:
JVR - Grabovsli - Kulemin

Is one of the best second lines in the league. We're a 1C, Top 4 defencemen and #1 goaltender away from being a really good team.

I think it's a great fit for the leafs. he bring leadership to guide some of our young players. BTW the leafs are not gonna make the playoff this year anyway. it's win-win situation we're nothing to lose anyway

if not why not take a chance on a vet.
if yes i have no comment

no there not going to make the playoffs.
but letting our top prospects play , gives them experience next year.
and if you make the playoffs with them, that's coaching
eakins did say that some of them are ready, nothing more to learn in the AHL.
its time to learn in the NHL, what a better time, with a shortening season

These things are so useless... Wow big whoop, McGuire "thinks Arnott would be a good fit" means jack.

skacore thinks Stamkos would be a good fit.

Maybe 3-5 years ago this would have made sense but with the leafs current roster and Arnott's age it makes little sense.
