Colorado=Pacific
Quebec-Mid West, Not great but the jets had two years in the south east
End game is still Detroit back West, I would think.

he put $25M into escrow during his bid attempt for the coyotes. so he had that then.Hulsizer has $0. Let's start with that.

Back to work.
Last tweet before that was June 5th.
Why Detroit rather than Columbus? Not that I care either way, but you would think that Detroit has a stronger lobby, no?
Not worried. No primary owner for a team in Seattle. Still the 11,000 seater as a temporary venue that has bad sightlines and bad equipement.
When is the New Colisee supposed to be complete?
You would then have to shift Detroit down to the PITT/PHI/NYR division, which makes little sense. Travel and time zone issues are pretty much irrelevant regardless of what conference they're in.
They'd only play West Coast teams one more time in the Western Conference than they would in the East, and half of those would be at home. So only 3-4 more road games on the West coast each season.
And moving to the PITT/PHI/NYR division pretty much ruins the bigger benefit, which was all those O6 teams in one conference.
Plus Columbus benefits a hell of a lot more in the East than Detroit. Detroit is going to be successful no matter what. Moving Columbus into a division with PITT/NYR/PHI might move them into the black.
11K is fine for a temporary arena if the nhl can get guarantees on the new arena. It'll still make more money than phoenix and levin/hansen/someone will eat the losses (other than revenue sharing) instead of the NHL.
The question is whether the NHL can convince seattle to start building without the NBA. That's what the NHL is probably working on right now behind the scenes.
Quebec is an option, but from all the behaviour the NHL has demonstrated, it's a last resort.

thats what they say, yeah. but if the info is true about gosbee chipping in only $10M, after having probably been asked to step in for jamison and his $10M, then hulzi having put $25M into escrow would make him the single largest potential investor/buyer since the nhl took over. as much as it was fun to joke about the guy wearing his brand new, sweater and drinking beer with fans, he seems to have been the one guy most willing to put his money where his mouth is.But he couldn't come up with another $15M to close the Blues sale.
I still suspect that this is all the NHL trying to get PKP to give more money.
I don't get that impression at all. I get the impression that Gary is negotiating with PKP right now and has zero leverage as the CoG has demonstrated that they don't care whether the Coyotes come, stay, lay or pray. So he's trying to invent some leverage all of a sudden.
PKP's actions over the past few weeks speak a lot louder than a couple of hastily published tweets of dubious plausibility.

For those wondering if Seattle is a potential NHL market, it's worth noting NBC affiliate in Seattle NOT showing Game 1

SOMEONE will. Maybe. That guy. That sounds a lot like the situation in Phoenix. That mysterious investor.
No mystery in Quebec City.
Any league source on that judgement on Key Arena being a suitable fit? Because they haven't ran Key Arena for exhibitions in many years. They do run the Colisee every year.
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly was quoted by La Presse of Canada in late January as saying "Seattle, like Quebec, amphitheatres (have) to be built. Existing infrastructure - the Coliseum and the Key Arena, which served as home to the SuperSonics basketball club before being relocated to Oklahoma City, could serve as temporary solutions.â€
