To be honest, as much as I rip on the Coyotes and this joke of a fiasco. I would pay $250 to own a share of the team.............

........since they aren't likely to be around much longer.

Had you worried that I was going soft for a minute there didn't I.....

Yes you did. I was actually thrown for a loop. Well played sir! :handclap:

Hard to know for sure, but I wonder whether $90-100 million sale price might get it done.

Probably would, but IIRC Jamison has said ( sometime in the last 19 months ) that the price is not an object.

Sure does appear to be becoming an issue ... At this late date.

Since we're getting near the 1000 post point, can the next Phoenix topic have a poll asking if people think Jamison will actually by the team by midnight Feb 1st or not? I'd be interested in seeing how many people think one way versus the other.

HOW DO YOU KNOW, Glacial, (none of us does) that the Jamison lease/sale HAS to go through proper channels, and isn't already an agenda item on the Next BOG Meeting, much the way Hansen has to wait for the NBA BOG vote to complete his acquisition, if the CBA hadn't gotten in the way, which is wht GJ was instructed to do before the previous CBA expired.

Approving the sale of the Coyotes to Jamison would be a mere formality. Unlike the Kings, the NHL owns the team and there is only one party that wants to buy or retain it. The NHL handpicked Jamison so he's obviously been vetted by the board. He is an NHL insider with numerous high profile contacts within the league. If he had the investors this would be a done deal.

The IEH guys always had the biggest mouths - not the biggest wallet.

Not disputing that.

The assertion was LeBlanc is the major investor. We all know he's involved in some way, but that's the extent of it.

But if someone wants to follow up and find out how HedgeEye is doing then maybe the picture could be a little clearer in that area?

"Price is not an issue", and yet you are having a hard time rounding up investors? I would say that price is exactly the issue.

I expected that GJ would have said that the deal would close in hours not days.

If Jamison had any sense of humor, he would have said "weeks not months".

That would have sent the BOH boards over the edge...

As this saga comes down to the wire, and we eagerly await the arrival of "the Tortoise", I think it is time to remind ourselves that if the NHL had set the sale price at a fair market value, this deal would likely have been done long ago. It's easy to point the finger at the COG and Jamison, but they did what they could. I think that the NHL has been rather brutish with Glendale and the Coyotes fans.

What's the fair market value of a team that has lost money every year of its existence?

The NHL is a business not a charity.

The Coyotes are not tied to a lease and can be sold for relocation to other markets.

Tree ahead...

So many excuses, none of which had any real impact on his ability to buy or not buy the Coyotes...

If I thought he could do it, I probably wouldn't be posting this...

Come one people, the next thread is # LXIX, or # 69 for those of you that don't speak Roman. What's the first thing you think of when you hear the number 69? Former Washington Capitals journeyman Mel Angelstad, first NHLer to wear 69?

No. And not that either. We're talking the mid 1980's nostalgic throwback tune by Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, harkening back to a simpler time, lamenting how "the times are changing" and "nothing can last forever". You hear that, BOH Coyotes enthusiasts? Nothing can last forever. Or can it?

Phoenix LXIX: The Thread of '69

I think that you are on to something. The all Coyotes attendance thread. People from all over Quebec can congregate and speak of how many more people would be at a Nordiques game. This would be a designated smoking room as well ;)

This would work. Kinda like Detroit Abandoned Homes porn slide shows that they have going on the internet. Someone could put together photos of thousands of empty seats for Columbus on a Tuesday night, then Nashville on a Wednesday night. For whatever reason, people seem to enjoy viewing photographic evidence of the ruins of a city, or in this case, the ruins of a hockey franchise.

Remember though Whileee...... the tortoise won. ;)

Pretty sure moderately intelligent math guys proved hundreds of years ago that the tortoise would not and could not possibly win. It's all about limits and calculus, so the idea that the slow-moving tortoise named Jamison will win is not something that I would cling to were I a Coyotes fan. It's a nice tale, but eventually numbers get in the way to prove it's impossible.
