A continued puzzle to this saga is why the City of Glendale seems uninterested in ensuring that they know who will actually own the Coyotes before they enter into an agreement with Jamison. It seems clear that Jamison will not be anything other than a minor investor, in which case he is now a "front man", and if the team is purchased he will become an "employee". Perhaps Joyce Clark, who seems to pin her support for this deal heavily on her admiration for Greg Jamison, would like to know who his bosses will be before signing the lease.

Amen Whillee!!! However, what you have not taken into consideration is the fact that JC is blind to any rhetoric coming from the "nay saying" crowd. If this was a private enterprise attempting to procure investors for a entertainment purveyor they would look long and hard at the investor group. But this is politics at its ugliest, she has absolutely no conscience when it comes to taxpayer dollars! To her this is all about her desire for power, and somehow the retention of a massive money losing scheme adds to her perceived power. She needs to be defeated in such a way as to eliminate her from ever having a say in Glendale again. She is clearly a liberal politician who thrives on spending money the city does not have all in the name of a wing and a prayer! The city is so hopelessly burdened with debt and unpaid obligations that perhaps she sees her efforts as nothing more than a small added inconvenience for the future taxpayers of Glendale!

Lieberman Leaving Early

http://www.azcentral.com/community/...uncilman-lieberman-leaving-council-early.html

It's not yet clear whether the vacated seat would be filled for the two-month period that has five meetings on the calendar. Lieberman recommends seating the winner sooner to avoid any gap in leadership from southeast Glendale's Cactus District.

City Attorney Craig Tindall said he is working with the council, which will decide how to proceed. He said the charter mandates that the council fill vacancies.

Hirsch and Hugh said they would be ready if called on sooner.

Glendale is negotiating a management deal for the city-owned Jobing.com Arena with a prospective Coyotes buyer.

Without the contract, the city could lose the hockey team, which supporters say is crucial to the sports-and-entertainment district. The council approved a deal with the buyer in June but has since worked out terms to lower payments in the early years.

Both candidates said if voters undo the sales-tax hike, they would not support the proposed $320 million Coyotes deal at the expense of core services.

Weiers praised the interim city manager for trying to get a better deal, but he said it's not good enough in light of the budget situation.

"We're fighting to try to come up with $25 million (in cuts) ... yet we're still funding millionaires. I have a major problem with that," Weiers said.

Cruz said the area near the arena needs economic development nearby to stabilize it, which should come with the soon-to-open Tanger Outlet mall, a new hospital and possibly the casino.

Cruz was optimistic about the business district's future.

"We'll make sure that that area survives," Cruz said. "It'll be just fine one way or the other."

As you can also see above the Glendale Star has now picked up on some of what Mr. Fallar was referring to in one of his earlier blogs.

Yeah.... I suppose they're out of their minds too. Bloody lunatic conspiracy I tell ya!!!

You're flailing pretty wildly here, Legend. The newspaper didn't pick up any part of the loony conspiracy theory. The newspaper report debunks the asinine theory in the blog. The organization states in the article that Chariva didn't do anything wrong and the accusations were made by a felon. So much for those "nefarious connections". Unless...

What if the Glendale Star was in on the conspiracy? Does the Glendale Star employ Latinos? If they do, they're definitely in on it. In fact, anyone who says anything critical of the Coyotes must be part of a vast network of evil that was formed solely to stop the JIG deal. It couldn't be that the JIG lease is a fiscally imprudent deal for the city. No, it's all a big conspiracy.

Canadian Media? In on it.
Latinos? In on it.
Chavira? In on it.
Phoenix Monarch Group? In on it.
Goldwater? In on it.
Alvarez? In on it.
Lieberman? Slept through it. But as soon as he wakes up, he's in on it too.

Oh by the way, try to keep in mind that the entire conspiracy theory you were promoting is moronic because PMG cannot be awarded the contract by the council. That would violate all government contracting/competitive bidding laws. I mention that again because it seems like you and the blogger don't quite grasp the concepts involved here. You sound like two guys who are scared that the Coyotes might leave so you concoct ridiculous stories about those critical of the deal. The result is crackpot conspiracy theories that aren't even possible to begin with.

I knew the Lieberman leaving was posted a while back, I was just posting the issue with does his position get filled and by whom right away, or does the CoG wait. If they leave Phil's seat empty, that could mess up any voting that is required. One less vote for issues either way.

Just messin' with ya...

I'm in as well since Joyce blocked me on Twitter and all (yet she doesn't realize that Twitter mobile still shows all tweets, guess it's a glitch).

With every moment closer to the election the idea of this deal closing is getting dimmer and dimmer. The new incumbents are almost certain to overturn this, IF it in fact does get signed and beats the tax vote (which I highly doubt it will).

Who actually wants higher taxes? Especially to be able to afford to pay millionaires?!

yes ... make it 34,482,779 and if we each chip in 5 dollars right now and then a dollar a year, we can together own the phoenix coyotes, eh.

so, where shall we put them? maybe have a roll up the rim contest and let the winner decide?

Brilliant!

Hell let's put the team in Saskatchewan so we can poke fun of all the rednecks on television year round instead of just in the summer when their football team plays.

Her next tweet clarifies that its "hit man" but is she trying to insinuate that all firefighters are murders or want to kill their wives?

That's a good question. Maybe she's trying to insinuate that all men want to kill their wives, the fact that he's a firefighter is just a coincidence?! :sarcasm:

What a twisted individual (Joyce Clark I mean not the firefighter)

Well she happens to be running against a firefighter. I mean who hates on firefighters?

Ya never know...if Greg purchases the 'Yotes and doubles the ticket prices...and somehow can fill Jobing every game...and sell out the corporate boxes...and charge for, and fill parking lot...and convince the media to put the 'Yotes ahead of High School football....and convince Phoenix and area sport fans, that ice hockey is more entertaining than football/basketball/baseball...

By gosh...it might just work...

Holy crap. How hard would it be to find an article somewhere that shows a grandmother killed someone and tweet that out with a "Hmmmmm" after it? She shouldn't be allowed near twitter. Ever. She also shouldn't be allowed to serve any type of public office. Hopefully the residents of Glendale are smart enough to toss her out on her ear.

Did you really just quote your own post????

*Slow clap*

FWIW Saskatoon wouldn't be a bad place for a team to go, give the residents something else to do besides sleeping with their kin during the winter months. Can call the team Saskatchewan Rough Riders, all the marketing is already there, just add a guy with a hockey stick wearing hockey equipment to them.
