Sure did, the McDonalds across from Winnipeg arena was torn down to make way for Best Buy, Future Shop, Pro hockey life and in the parking lot a 14 screen theatre was built. Earls, Joeys and Tony Romas set up shop within a block of the old arena as did Home Depot. A mini-boom sprung up around the old barn.

What??? We lost the McDonalds???

At the end of the day this council is going to have to trust somebody. Trust the tea baggers saying the arena will be just fine without a team or trust Jamison that he can turn things around and improve this situation with the Coyotes in Glendale. There is tremendous risk involved either way. Going with Jamison could be the biggest mistake in Glendale history. Letting the Coyotes walk away could be the biggest mistake in Glendale history. Depends on who you believe. Who's more correct, the GWI and their lot or Jamison and his?

Martinez seems perplexed that everyone is focusing on the Arena Management Fee.

Thankfully, Ed Lynch went over "Economics 101" with city council yesterday. And here folks were concerned that city council members were somewhat ignorant in this area.

I don't remember... But Glendale wasn't exactly founded when the coyotes came around, we're they?

Can someone please explain to Clark that 13K fans showing up to a Coyotes games has nothing to do with decisions to build hospitals.... From Hartford to Hospitals she is grasping at straws... I think maybe Jamison promised her a date or something

The economy goes in cycles??? Good grief!!! Tell the people in Flint who haven't found a job since 1989!!!

The cycle thing is true, but if the city is run by dullards it will still trend downward...

Glendale will be regulated to "ghosttown" if Coyotes leave, what was the cities status before the hockey team? What about the Cardinals?

Town NHL hates !
Funny that Phoenix residents are for Coyotes staying while Quebec residents are for Coyotes leaving...while Glendale residents, not present on HF don't give a **** about hockey or the team...or their taxes for that matter.

I believe that they will regret their decision either way. The mistakes were made long before now.

The real question is whether Jamison can find enough investors to see this deal through.

The specter of legal challenge is looming larger because of Glendale's boneheaded approach to bringing this deal forward, and I think that Glendale could be put into further distress if groups are successful in bringing forth a referendum on the budget. Martinez mentioned that they are receiving "robo-calls" against the deal. The public opposition is getting organized, perhaps.

The NFL, Super Bowls and BCS only happen because of the Coyotes that's a fact.

So the people that aren't here from Quebec don't care either?
