Vancouver should not even think of taking on more big contracts until Elias and Quinn are signed. You have enough trouble as it is with all those weird contracts.
Vancouver probably shouldnt take on termed cap hits at this point, and this is atrocious value for Voracek.

What utter nonsense this is. Voracek paced 66 points this year and is the 8th highest scoring RW in the league over the last 3 years.
"Decent to good middle sixer" is ridiculous. He's got four years left and maybe for the last 1/2 years he'll be a problem. For now though, he's money.

I’m not the biggest Voracek fan a lot of the time, but this makes zero sense for the flyers.

They don't have the cap space to take on Voracek as well as pay Hughes and Pettersson.

...how much do you think Virtanen is going to get on his RFA contract?
Also we are having to fill a contract hole to make up for two players leaving our roster, which is another 900k or so, likely more as Erikssons and Virtanen are in our top nine, because we would be walking Toffoli.

They aren't. Virtanen is a RFA making 1.5 M (1.25 M against the cap). Probably won't get much of a pay raise. Eriksson is making 6 M for 2 more seasons. Voracek is making 8.25 M for 4 seasons.
Pretty bad deal for both teams. Value wise for the Flyers. Cap wise for the Canucks.
Really wouldn't mind trading Voracek as a Flyers fan, just we would need a lot more value back (especially if the other team was trading a cap dump back).

That's probably a lot more palatable from a Flyers POV, given we have a significant excess of top 6 quality LWs.
