Matej Tomek is healthy now. He got some small amount of action in an exhibition game on the 9th but the two goalies ahead of him have been playing well in his absence so he's essentially been relegated to the third goalie for now.

Sanheim got an assist late to extend his point streak to 10. Swift Current wasn't giving him any room at the points tonight so that left a lot of room for teammates. He was on the ice for 5 of the 6 Calgary goals.

You could say that. He's a really well rounded player, but his team is an offensive power house so that should be taken into consideration. He's "only" 3rd on his own team in scoring.

Btw the Q playoffs should be crazy. Val d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Shawinigan, Gatineau, and Moncton. Could probably throw Saint John in as well. Lot of firepower in the league this year.

When you draft well, it puts you in a great position where you can afford to overpay when you make trades later on down the line.

This is why some of us *****ed and whined for years about asset management when Holmgren clearly had no idea what that meant. It hurt him when it came time to get someone he really did want because he used them already for stopgap solutions. Having 2nd round picks, you know, actually does help you at the trade deadline.

It's possible one of them gets traded, but I doubt it.

I think it's more likely that lines get shifted around since I don't think what's working now will be set in stone for multiple seasons. It's not like Simmonds or Schenn are incapable of playing on the third line, especially if the third line improves like it should.

I'm starting to think Konecny plays another year of Junior. I don't think Derian Hatcher gave up what he gave up to get Konecny without at least a little assurance he wouldn't be in the NHL next year.
