If you start at a low rate, and wear masks and practice basic social distances (no, you don't have to disinfect three times a day) you should be fine.

Of course, if you follow the Red State recipe, start at a fairly high rate, open everything up including bars, half your people refuse to wear masks because it infringes on their freedom to be irresponsible, well, it's gonna be a clusterf--k.

Thanks for speaking for me in Alabama where we are a apparently bunch of idiots! Shouldn't this topic be put in a politics section?

So the only guys ranked ahead of him were 1st and 2nd rounders for the most part except for:

Myers who had 1st Rd value 1year after being signed
Zamula....see Myers
Pimp who had a great WJC to boost value....and Stizzle's/Caps pimping
Hogberg who played well in a men's league

Seems pretty reasonable ranking for a 6th rounder to me.

Laczynski and Cates are under the radar for most Flyer fans, including many on these boards, but the group of people with too much time on their hands know who they are.

I think they do get underrated b/c the fast, flashy guys get the press and attention, and smart, physical players like them with good but not great skills tend to be overlooked until they have a couple years in the NHL and people start noticing that they consistently make good things happen at both ends of the ice.

Organizational depth has also caused them to be overlooked, until the last few years both would have easily been in the top ten and gotten a lot more hype.

Upside is another factor, Allison, who isn't as polished both due to IQ and injuries, has the potential to be a big time goal scorer, while it's hard to get excited about an upside of 25-30 points in a bottoms six role with good defense, at least until they start posting xGF of 55% on a regular basis - or remember all the Couts nonsense 5 years ago.

"But let's sign a couple or three or four NHL vets, just in case."

Cates hasn't left college and we'll see if Laczynski is NHL ready or like most college players, needs some AHL time.
The people talking about NHL vets are talking solid players on short-term deals.

Yep, just pushing it back further. Why not? It hasn't hurt Friedman, right? Sure, he's older than you are, but he still has time. Two or three more years and he will be one seasoned motherf***er.

Friedman was only drafted 6 years ago. Dmen take time....

Friedman has yet to show anything that would you give you confidence he's a NHL defensemen.
He has some skills, but wasn't a dominant AHL defenseman and was meh in his NHL cameo.
He's in the mix, but I wouldn't consider him a sure thing, though after 3 AHL seasons it's time to "up or out."

One reason I expect them to bring in a veteran is that Hagg, Friedman and Morin are not the ideal third pair talent pool.

I mean Friedman looked better than hagg. Which is our bar at this point.

and if those three are not ideal third pair talent than why give hagg a contract.

Because you start with a roster without holes, then look to upgrade.
You don't know if you can obtain that veteran at a reasonable cost in UFA/trade, given cap constraints.
So you make sure you have enough bodies to start the season.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I know this may be shocking, but you don't need to be dominant in the AHL to be an effective 3rd pairing Dman.

I watch Tampa win the Cup with guys like Killorn grinding it out but have the talent to score off the rush and I see Laczynski and Cates in that mould. Solid pro players. Allison is the wildcard for me. Love his style and character. He could be like Hartnell if he stays healthy and turns out: 20+ goals, cause all kinds of crap, etc.
