Easy to "find" a TV deal when you are paying the network and not the other way around. More of " if you throw enough money around you can buy anything" mentality.

Keep waving that LIV flag though. How much are the Saudis paying you?
As long as PGA and their fans keep crying it's hard to care for them.
I don't care if LIV dies tomorrow by the way.

Golf has turned into Professional Wrestling when WWF Smackdown joined and took half of RAW's roster.
love to watch this drama unfold and the reactions from PGA fans is awesome

Must be nice to sit back and critique fans of a sport you don't care about.

I care a little about Golf. it has grown on me alot the past couple years but overall I dont care about it on the same level I care about hockey. Im never counting down the days to the next golf event but I enjoy it a little.
this whole thing going on with LIV has sparked my interest alot more for not only LIV but the PGA as well. however every day I go on fb or instagram or something like that I seen negative energy from anything that has to do with the PGA towards the LIV
Thought these guys are professional.... why are they so worried about what LIV players are doing,

Both LIV golfers and politicians can be the "bad guys".

Right, but nobody said otherwise.

The prior post set up a false dilemma which implies politicians are held blameless in order to attack golfers… which simply isn’t true. Both groups should, and can easily, be judged on their own merits.

I think we are on the same page. I really could care less if people do not view LIV golfers through a moral lens; that "they are taking money that anyone else would take if they were in the same situation" so these what about arguments are meaningless (as they are in most debates).

What really should be called out is the ridiculous notion that LIV is "good for golf" that is pushed by the LIV golfers (likely by contractual obligation), the notion that the PGA obviously wasn't doing things right by their multimillionaire star players given their introduction of limited field events, and that this is quite far from being simply a commercial venture by a group who loves golf.

Uh.... this sports-wise seems akin to if the USA and USSR randomly merged in the '50s

Wait, what?

Someone's gotta be on the short end of the stick, and I'm assuming it's the PGA.

Yea, will be interesting to see what caused this? Had the Saudi’s given up? We’re a large contingent of PGA about to jump ship?

Did Rory know it was coming and that’s why he settled down the rhetoric? What happens to those large upfront payments? Do LIV guys still not get paid? Netted against the Saudi “sponsorship “?

The PGA demonstrated that they are as big a money whores as the LIV Golf/Saudi’s are by digging in earlier on the basis of sport laundering but now capitulating when push came to shove and the veiled threat of having to open their financial books and probably losing their “not for profit” status became a bigger possibility.

indeed, what a bunch of hypocrites. I feel bad (just a little) for players that were hoodwinked, like Rory who went to bat hard for the PGA only to be sold out at the end. Tiger Probably kicks his own ass for not signing on for his reported .75Billion earlier.

Monahan says in his presser. Some may think it’s hypocritical, then went into an explanation.

Why does he always drop these bombs at the Canadian Open, first last year, and now again this year. Instead of talking about the once a year event, it’s this all over again.

Well, I'm not surprised LIV was short-lived. Even wealthy people hate losing money. I'm a little surprised it ended in merger and not acquisition, but LIV has a LOT of money to kick into the new venture.
