It's hard to see any scenario where the team isn't terrible next year.

Kris Letang is cooking himself, right in front of our eyes. Malkin isn't getting younger. Our wingers are a pile of mediocre. Erik Karlsson can't contribute to a Powerplay (neither can Letang). Our goalies are meh.
