Such a smart, savvy move by JR.

Marleau checks all the boxes for what they needed in the bottom six, and he can skate up in the top six for a spell if needed.

Anyone who doesn’t like this move hasn’t watched Marleau and is just looking at his age, IMHO.

Yeah, the moment I heard Marleau being floated around, I thought Malkin would love to play with him. It was more than once Malkin mentioned Marleau as being one of his favorite players. And I'm pretty sure Marleau has stated in the past Mario was his favorite player growing up. One would think both parties are going to try and get the most out of this.

It'd be nice to get a healthy lineup so maybe we can give Rust a few games off at some point. We need him at or near 100% to make a run of it this year with Guentzel out.

Yeah there seem to be quite a few parallels this year to 09. Both teams had/have a chip on their shoulder from the way the previous year ended. Lost a high end offensive player. Brought in a winger for Crosby and an older vet. Good news is that as good as Tampa is, they ain't the 08/09 Wings.

So it was confirmed it’s a 2021 conditional. That’s good. Pretty awesome we get to see him in a pens sweater.
