Condon is a pretty good back-up. Won't steal games, but won't lose you games either.

He's consistent in his averageness, which is a valuable quality for a back-up in my opinion

How many games is the backup realistically going to play? 1? 2? YOu can plan that in advance and call up Jarry for it. Let Irving open the bench doors in the meantime.

Irving is playing in Finland. At least, I think it's Finland ... somewhere in Europe for sure

Jarry isn't ready that's why he's not going to be on the team.

I wasn't sure if they would but when JR said he may go this route I wondered.

Simply a warm body while MM is out. Question now really is, does he go to WBS while we call Jarry up or does he back up MAF? backing up MAF and giving jarry the starts in WBS makes the most sense. Once MM is back, send him down. If he gets reclaimed, he gets reclaimed.

Curious to see who else gets claimed.

Yea, i don't see how Condon's eligibility for the exp. draft plays into this at all.
Condon has more NHL experience(starter+backup) than Wedgewood, is probably the sole reason.

I personally think Wedgewood's a better G and i would've claimed him ahead of Condon but this is whatevs. MM+Jarry or Gustafsson is the Pens future.

Also Condon's on a 2-way contract this year. (last yr of his 2 yr deal)
So when we waive him once MM comes back and he doesn't get claimed, he'll just be in the mix in WB.
