Wow. Incredible value for a guy who can play on all three of your top lines and raises his game in the playoffs.

Can easily see him hitting 30+30 with 87 or 71 over a full season. Guentzel, Rakell, Smith and Rust is a great set of top-6 wings that Sully can mix and match.

Awesome deal. I thought their top-6 last year was the best top-6 they were going to have in the Crosby and Malkin era, turns out it's actually going to be going forward. Smith is better than Zucker.

This is exactly what I wanted to see Dubas do before the draft. I was mostly focused on LA with Iaffalo or Arvidsson, but Smith fits that too.

For Vegas, they probably see it as 3rd + able to resign Barbashev before July 1 for Smith.

For us, it’s just a massive win. A true top-6 forward who raises his game in the playoffs at below market value for a 3rd.
