Zero risk with a chance for a moderate reward.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Based on next-to-nothing there's probably a decent chance he sticks out of camp as an extra forward.

From the same town as Määttä (and me). Skilled center with great vision. PP-specialist. A late bloomer. Has had attitude problems in the past.

How do you pronounce his name?

Neutral fan, coming in peace.

You're getting a great player here. Smart and super skilled, great skater, competes hard. Can be a playmaker, but can also be the trigger man. IMO he's better suited for an offensive role somewhere in the top-9, rather than being in a grinder line of some sort. If you plan on rolling 4 offensive lines, even better.

Take good care of the Artist. We'll miss him for sure over here.

First name would be Oh-la (as in La La Land). The last name is trickier -- take the words "pulp" and "vex". Combine the bolded parts in order and you have a pretty good pronunciation.

Has he played wing and if not do you think he can make the switch?

I'm really intrigued by Palve based on what I'm reading here. If he's a skilled guy that can be either the playmaker or triggerman on a line, I wonder how he'd look on a 3rd line with Bjugstad and Hornqvist with 2nd unit PP time. It would be amazing if he's Simon with better goal scoring talents.

Can't remember off the top of my head if he's played wing. I know he's mainly a center, but I don't see why he couldn't make the switch to wing.

That's a pleonasm bro ;), thanks a lot for the info. Looking forward to see how he developped, i mean, org signed him with bonuses as a 27 yo. Verrry curious.

Sure he'll be hungry with that 1y deal future UFA, bodes well!

Can’t wait until Bjugstad and Teddy / UFA vet signing are playing over this guy and everyone goes bat **** about it around January because he scores like 5 goals in his first 15 games and proceeds to be scratched.
Let's not even pretend like this ISN'T going to happen. Because it's 100% going to happen.

Or worse, he gets sent to WBS, puts up a point per game yet never gets called up

You're welcome. :)

One thing I forgot to mention -- for the better part of the season, Palve was playing together with Kaapo Kakko. They were incredible together, just a treat to watch.

I'd be surprised if he comes out to play in the AHL. 7th in the league in scoring, 27, he won't want to do that, surely?

I wonder if this is any clue that they intend on keeping Maatta or Riikola, or both? I don't think they make a move like this unless they intend on keeping one of them to help (a fellow Finn) show him the ropes and what-not
