I went camping with Bunting … I’m in the back of a pickup with Michael Bunting and a live deer. Well, Bunting, he grabs the deer by the antlers, looks at it and says, ‘I’m Michael Bunting! Say it!’ Then he squeezes the deer in such a way that a sound comes out of its mouth — “MichaelBunting!” It wasn’t exactly it, but it was pretty good for a deer.
Almost as good as letang and Christmas eve hitchhiking

Must win against the Caps and probably have to go 6-1 in those games to have a decent chance…have we even won three in a row all season lol?

I’m not sure about that. PHI is imploding and WSH too. Nothing is really a must win yet. Just get points and hope one of those two teams continue sucking.

The Devils would be a completely different team had they swung Markstrom.
Possibly, but if we had Mackinnon, Makar and McDavid, we would be a completely different team ourselves.

Ned is like a refreshing cup of cold water.

Or like HF Pens whenever @Ryder71 is temporarily banned.
@Ryder71, doesn't get banned, because he's a man with a plan.

Malkin's penalty was boarding, but it's absolute BS that they can make that call after the play was dead for offside. What's next, a team asks for a missed trip/slash/cross-check that happened 30 seconds earlier once the whistle is blown?

Devils are surely the worst matchup the Pens have, with their ability to bypass forechecks and skate through the neutral zone. Problem for NJ is that style works less good in the playoffs, not that they are going to be there this year. For all the disappointments the Pens have had this season, they were expected to be a bubble team and have been. The Devils were expected to be a Presidents Trophy contender. They are easily the most disappointing team in 23-24.

I couldn't believe the backhand turnover Sid made on the third goal. It was right shot St. Ivany coming on his left, so it would have been an awkward play even if it had worked. And he had Rust to his right for the simpler play. Sid is as perfect a hockey player you could reasonably ask for in one person, but those soft backhanders are his worst habit. Thankfully he redeemed himself.

-Great keep by EK on the PP - if that jumps over his stick, eesh.
-Great shot by Pettersson on the Rakell goal - he waited just long enough to let RR get in position.
-They basically ran the same faceoff play on both Malkin goals. On the first one Bunting went through the slot and on the second he went around the net, but on both plays they went D to D, down to Bunting, and then up to JSI/down to Malkin.
-As much as they like playing pretty possession hockey, this is the way they have to play the rest of the year. Puck to the net, bodies to the net. All five in-net goals were just example of simple meat n' potatoes hockey. Yes, they got some luck with EK's goal and the tips being good, but frankly they are due some luck after all the chances they've squandered this season.

Now if they go beat Washington in regulation, and CBJ beat Isles, they would be one point out. Crazy.

CBJ did beat Colorado yesterday and Nylander had two more goals for CBJ!

Bunting is an OK player. No problem with him. Definitely a better use of capspace than Reilly Smith and Graves. Those two absolutely need to go, Carter obviously too. Then it´s a question of what to do with Jarry. It´s the crucial part of the year and our 5.3M goalie is on the bench looking how some random backup is outplaying him and actually winning some games by not collapsing. Ned is not mentally weak at least.

Bunting is a good player, a very solid middle six forward. Glad to have him.

I'd be very fine with Ned and Blomquist as the pens two goalies next season. Trade Jerry after the season ends. Jersey, Buffalo and the Kings could use a starting goalie.

We should have asked for a 3rd if Nylander scores 6 goals with the Jackets like Jackets did for Bemstrom.
I'd be happy if it was Nylander and a sixth for Bemstrom and a fourth. At least we will not lose the third round pick to CBJ.

Well, we own the tiebreaker over the Isles. We are two points behind them, but our last game is against them. If it comes to that, we just have to beat them there. That means we still control our "destiny" over the Isles. We have to beat the Caps now, we just have to, otherwise it´s over. But if we could do it, then we are like one or two points behind teams like Flyers and Caps, there is a massive chance that these two teams will give up some more points. I say, we have to go 5-1-1 the rest of the way, ideally beating teams like Caps, Isles and Wings. Then we can lose some random game to Boston or Toronto.

Jarry for Gibson still on the table?
Rather talented failing franchise goalie vs. failing albatross goalie.
