How does JR manage to downgrade the roster with almost every move he makes nowadays?
Gudbranson is f***ing trash, makes almost 4 million and has two more years after this one. It's hard to put into words how horrendous that is. Our defense is f***ed for the next couple of years at least with the boat anchors in Gudbranson and Johnson.

There are two thoughts I have on this:

1) GMJR is purposely trying to tank by having two of the worst defensemen in the league on the same team.

2) GMJR is hoping we scrape into the playoffs and JJ and Gudbrandson are the type of shitty defensemen that get away with murder by holding everyone and getting away with penalties because they don't call them in the playoffs.

I don't think GMJR is smart enough for #1. I don't think we're good enough to make the playoffs right now so #2 worries me.

Either way, my assessment is we're f***ed.

Again, they probably just view him as having more upside than Oleksiak and a way better physical threat.

If this was Oleksiak or Gudbranson straight up, I don’t think we’re as disappointed. With that said, Hagelin turning into Gudbranson is very, very questionable.
