Huge no from Buffalo. Not giving away what equates to 5 1st round picks for a 30 year old winger, regardless of how good he is.

Wouldn't trade Eichel straight up for him either.
What you said! Coming from a Hab' fan I would never want to give up that much more a great player that is past his prime..

Sabres immediately have the best line in the league (Skinner, Eichel, Kane) and reduce the cap hit. They will be more attractive to free agents and could contend next year with the right moves.

Generally you don't want to stack Kane onto your top line, as there's not enough puck to go around. He's been super successful in Chicago by driving a second line all by himself. Granted yesterday wasn't a good example since he and Toews each put up 5 points on the same line, but it's normally reserved for a nuclear option.

So one even better line and even less depth, while gutting our blueline and prospect pool. Nah I'm good.
Sabres rid themselves of Okposo and add a top ten player in the league who is under contract at a very reasonable 10.5 for 4 more years. Nylander and Mittelstadt are far from guarantees and it's probably less than 50% both those draft picks make the roster long term.

Then the Sabres can keep Skinner Eichel Reinhart together and have 2 dominant offensive lines.
