Score was a lot closer than how the game really played out. B.C. defense was in beast mode and Maier was scrambling for his life most of the night.

Offensively the Leos sputtered a bit in the second quarter, but mostly controlled the line of scrimmage. Home opener next week against the Elks. Hoping there's no letdown against a team that on paper, isn't as good as Calgary.

Edmonton is abysmal. I don't know what their plans are.
That might be the most abysmal CFL games of the season.....neither team deserved to win. Elks add to the CFL home futility record, now 19 and counting. That's pretty impossible to do in a nine-team league.

But they'll be coming into B.C. Place with nothing to lose, so the Leos can't take them lightly.

Saturday is looking like it'll be a good time.
Yep....lower bowl at B.C Place is sold out, and blocks of seats in the upper bowl are going fast.

Got to hand it to the Leos marketing guys--they've got their act together....hope this is the beginning of bigger crowds at B.C. Place. This is one pro sports organization in Vancouver that deserves fan support.

Going to be their 70th season next year. Lots of history with this team. In the 80s and 90s, it wasn't out of the normal to see a sell out at the old BC Place before 10 000 seats were removed to make suites. I'm not expecting to return to that, but selling out the lower bowl on bigger nights would be a big step. With most of the games at 4pm on weekends this year, the crowds should be there. It was the 7pm Thursday nighters that always have brutal attendance.

Only got to see the second half but they looked all around solid. Also as TSN pointed out, the third shut out in franchise history! Last one was a 30-0 victory over the Argos back in the 70s.

How was the pregame concert?

Not an LL Cool J fan, but the guy puts on a show. He certainly didn't phone it in.

The whole GameDay experience is night and day to pre covid times. I was talking to an old guy in the concourse, almost @Chairman Maouth age. He said he hadn't been to a game since the season back at Empire. Last year convinced him to come to a game again. Had to dig through the attic for his old Brent Johnson jersey. Doman isn't just bringing in new fans, he's giving old fans a reason to come back again.

Also Edmonton...yeesh. I don't think they made it inside our 40 yard line.

It’s great to see the lengths the team has gone to lure the fans in (and back!) 30k plus is a great crowd and not even SK is hitting that number these days.

Hoping that the 4pm starts help out this year. Looks like a party around the stadium and I’ll have to time my next visit to BC around one of the games.

Thought LL was fine, glad they had some fun and showed it on tv.

Cool to see a shutout. Edmonton is awful, but BC did what they needed to do.

Only two games into the season, and next week we really get to see where the Lions are at.....as they invade IG Field to play the 2-0 Bombers next Thursday.....a 'measuring stick game' to be sure.
