Team scopes-

The Panthers are playing out the string, but this game is notable because it marks the final start of longtime goalie Scott Clemmensen in a Panthers jersey. With Roberto Luongo due back on Friday and Dan Ellis the backup the rest of this season and next season, with Houser waiting in the wings after that, barring something completely unforeseen, Tuesday will be his last appearance as a Panther.





The Islanders were full of hope coming off a rare playoff appearance in 2013. However, this season has been a return to form, with management making disastrous trades, first with Buffalo, then with Montreal. Only good news for Isles fans is that Wang may be selling the team.

Say what you will about Clemmensen, he was good here for 3/5 years and helped us to a division title in 2012, got way too much flak for how many points he got us.

Clem we'll all miss you (okay not really, but still way too much hate around here for him)

I have not been a big fan of Clem over the years, but he's far from the worst thing that's ever been in that goal. It's frustrating because he was quite decent in 2011-2012 but then I guess the whole team was.

I don't know what to think of last night's game either. It was a disastrous start but they didn't quit...you know until they did. The Panthers are just outclassed right now. They might beat the Islanders but any team with anything to play for is going to make this team look silly until they learn to play DEFENSE.

Horachek and staff may not have a ton to work with, but if these guys should be good at anything it's defense and they are not succeeding.

Clemmer has been a serviceable back-up goalie and always seemed to be a true professional in interveiws. Was he the greatest back-up ever? No... but he was far from the worst.

Ellis really isn't that bad. It's been snow white and 7 dwarves in front of him since day one as a Panther.

Not gonna lie but Clemm has at times been a great back up able to calm a game down or even win a few. Funny enough out biggest win streak came with Clemm in net this season so there is that. He probably calls it career after this season IMO so good luck to him wherever he winds up.
