Anyway, this is not a Lehner thread. I like Hoffman's signing. It perfectly reflect the fact that he has been ok for us while up, but he still has to prove that he belongs long term.

My main disagreement was with Lehner being a comparable to Markstrom, I shouldn't have included Lack and I honestly have no idea how much Lehner is worth.

Based on these numbers I would think that 2.5 million per year is very defensible. He's clearly better than Lack, Enroth or Markstrom while the sample size for Andersen is awfully small.

Like I said, I like Lehner a lot, but he should not be making more money than these guys. Most have been around long enough to prove they can play at this level and thus earned their contracts.
Give him a 2 year bridge contract at 1.4M, Let him prove he deserves more. When he is ready to be the number one guy, then we can give him more money and bring in a cheap back up like Hogberg or Driedger.

That is way above market value. I could see something along the lines of 1.25, 1.5, and 2.25 for a longer deal though.

The cap is pojected to be 71 million... I think 1.5x2 if fair for Lehner

I don't mind keeping him for another year or two, but Gryba isn't young (26), and he isn't very good either. He's also really slow, and that doesn't go hand in hand with having a mobile puck moving defense.
