Gryba could get 2.0 in arbitration
I think Lehner signs a bridge deal 2yrs 1.5per

Hoffman, Da Costa and perhaps Wideman I see demanding one-way deals

I agree with all except for Da Costa, if his demands arent too crazy id love to see him come back hes improved greatly and cant really demand a huge contract, if we cant bring him back trade his rights for a little something. When he first came into the league he chose to sign in Ottawa, with several other teams wanting him. I think he could be a good stopgap kind of guy until someone else develops.

Blood - Bad player. Not qualified.

Cowick/Dizzy - I've lumped these two together because they're basically the same player. I expect only one to return.

Da Costa - Bound for Europe I'd think. Not likely to be keen on playing in the AHL again.

Grant - Should be back, but I'm skeptical of him having a full time future in the NHL.

Gryba - Good chance he's traded. Otherwise a 1 year deal somewhere around 1 million.

Hamilton - Unlikely to be qualified.

Hoffman - I guess he'll get a chance to start in Ottawa. Could be traded.

Lehner - Something like 2 years/3.5 million.

Schneider/Sdao/Wideman - All back on short-term two-way deals.

Looks like a pretty lean year for Bingo next season IMO.

Gryba will never sign for a mill/year when dozens of Defensive D with his numbers are making 1.8-3.6. Defensive RIGHT HANDED D are NOT a dime a dozen. He won't get traded unless he signs first. My guess is if he goes to arbitration it will be about 1.8 to 2.3 year.

I haven't looked at the comparable players, but those numbers seem really high. Ottawa won't go even close to the high end there; that much I'm sure of.

Then the Sens will walk away from his arbitration award... He has a strong case in Arbitration
Schenn, Sbisa, ... Gryba will be payed, his numbers are good for arbitration

A team can't walk away from a player elected arbitration award of less than 3.5 million per year.

The more I look at his comparables, the more I think he'll be dealt.

I didn't know the 3.5mil arbitration rule as far as Gryba's pending arbitration. So IMO it will unfold like this:

Qualifying offer needs to be high enough to avoid arbitration. If it's not, the team is locked in to the arbitration award if this option is exercised. At that point he could be traded.

So they can't really trade him before he signs because the other team really doesn't know what he would be paid unless they trade on speculation.

The other option is to just let him walk for nothing if they guess what the award could be is more than what they would pay.

So what right hand shut down dman who plays a 5/6 role and PK should we get? Any ideas for around 1.5 to two mil.

Schenn 3.6
Sbida 2.1
Alzner 2.8

Found this on another board from a while ago.

When Sharks general manager Doug Wilson tweaked the team's blue line in late February, 2011 with the additions of Ian White and Justin Braun, he emphasized the importance of both being right-shot defensemen.

"There's not many of them out there," he said. "It's like looking for left-handed pitching."

Wilson was shedding light on a curious NHL phenomenon: Left-shot players far outnumber their right-shot counterparts. That disparity is especially seen among defensemen.

Basic economics based on supply and demand may come into play.

Especially if Spezza does not return a centre. If a guy like ROR comes back or we somehow sign a Statsny then the mix gets sorted differently. If 1 and 2 are Turris and Zibanejad, then SDC is right there.

Blood - gone
Cowick - When I've seen him play I like what I see so extend him
Da Costa - Waiting to break out. With Spezza and others from the top 6 Likely gone there could be a full time spot for him on the top 2 lines.
Dziuzynski - Let him walk
Grant - Ditto
Gryba - Hated his play early in the season but got a lot better as time went on. 2yrs $3.0M total and see if he can prove he can play at a high level consistently
Hamilton - gone
Hoffman - see my comments on Da Costa. I think he has everything that should be able to make a solid NHL player but there still seems to be a disconnect with him.
Lehner - Larger contract that eats up some UFA years rather than a bridge deal.
Schneider - Important part of the B-Sens keep him
Sdao - Gone
Wideman - He's a long term project so I'd re-sign him

I would guess that the Sens don't send qualifying offers to Ben Blood, Wacey Hamilton & David Dziurzynski.

Lehner and Hoffman will sign 1-way deals with the Sens. I think Gryba and Da Costa are prime candidates to get dealt. Cowick, Derek Grant, Schneider, Sdao and Wideman return to the B-Sens.
