The Sens would be smart to look at Pius Suter. Plays in ever situation, any position, on any line.

Derek Grant
Dmitry Kulikov (50% retained)

for

Yegor Sokolov

Sens ship Brannstrom to a third team to recoup a pick or prospect.
Zero interest in Kulikov, zero interest in moving Sokolov. Zero interest in moving Brannstrom.

Sean Monahan would be my target
If he was healthy, he's the ideal. Good enough to make a difference, too expensive for most teams.

Where is he ever fitting into the current group?
3rd LD

Chabot Zub
Chychrun Sanderson
Brannstrom Hamonic (or Thomson next season)

Edit: Or, he likes playing RD if the coach will let him, so

Chabot Zub
Chychrun Brannstrom
Sanderson Hamonic (or Thomson next season)

I don't see why some are saying term is an issue so long as the guy is cheap. Sens bottom 6 has been bad and they need to upgrade on Kelly and Gambrell. Next year the bottom 6 likely features some combo of Joseph, Kastelic, Greig, Pinto and Gauthier.

I'd be looking for a guy who can play wing and centre on a <2.5M deal.
Term is fine, term for expensive players is not

What if Montreal retained 50%? Dvorak's caphit would be 2.225. Would probably cost a 1st rounder then though.
You can have Joseph and a 3rd.

Sanderson will never be RD. Chychryn more likely.

Also, JBD>Thomson

Jason Dickinson has had good bounce back year with Hawks

Could be good add by Sens and shouldn't cost more than mid round pick

To :sens
C Jason Dickinson

To :hawks
Lightnign 2024 4th round pick
Too much term, too much money, and if Ottawa was willing to give up a 4th, they would have grabbed someone already.

If someone isn't looking to dump someone for, like a 6th, I don't think Ottawa is interested.

We had to pay to get rid of Zaitsev. We need every penny for DeBrincat, Pinto and then Sanderson.
Yes but that would be only like 1M above a minimun salary guy. Plus Pinto's next deal should be relatively cheap bridge. I think it would be doable. Of course whether it's worth it is another story.

They should look at Turcotte imo
Turcotte is the opposite of what Ottawa is looking for. A young, former high end pick who needs a scoring line, likely requires an expensive asset to acquire, and would need a spot on the team next season.

Ottawa is looking for the opposite of that. An experienced, bottom-6 guy who is cheap to acquire and isn't signed beyond the season OR is signed cheaply for next season as well.

I know you don’t want term….but…Scott Laughton?
Too much term, too much money, too expensive to acquire, but the ideal style of player Ottawa would look for.
