Minnesota waould have to move a $5M-ish player somewhere else to make it work. Would be worth looking into though.Does Minnesota have the cap space for this?
First line right handed players are a need for Minnesota...Stone is a VG player, but he's not what the Wild need, especially at that price. They need either elite scoring talent, or young players/prospects on ELC's. Paying Stone 7+ M simply isn't on....

We should just trade Coyle and not have any right handed players in our top 9.No there isnt. It would be a nice luxury to have a rh 1st line player. But its not a need given Nino and Granlund are both comfortable and capable of playing RW.
Young C capable players are a need. Like Erickson Ek.

Eriksson Ek is so promising at center that they have Greenway out playing center on his line.
Mark Stone might be one of the most underrated players on HF
Both those players are left handed playing the right side out of necessity. Top 6 right handed players are a need. Right handed players in general were a need. Want proof? Look at the signings Fenton made. 4/5 UFA signings were right handed,Sure, if they have another wing capable of playing the right side at a high level. Doesnt change that we have granlund capable of 65 to 70 points playing RW and Nino capable of 50 to 60 when healthy.
There is a difference between need and want.
Them wanting to see if Greenway can be a 6'6" monster down the middle doesnt have any impact on what they think Ek can be long term.
Not for 7.5 or 8 m per year for 8 years, they ain't.First line right handed players are a need for Minnesota...
In a pre - season game. BFD.We should just trade Coyle and not have any right handed players in our top 9.

there's a very large need of a RH forward on the PP. Acquiring Stone would necessitate moving one of Zucker or Nino anyway, so talking about them being in the lineup doesn't make sense. If you can move Niederreiter for anything close to the equivalent of Eriksson Ek and 1st round pick, then the OP trade becomes a no-brainer for the Wild.No there isnt. Sarcasm detector malfunctioning?Said no one, ever.
Kunin should be ready soon, is RH'ed, and has a rep as a shooter/scorer.
Stone signed as a FA would be near impossible if he wants 7.5m+. Trading young prospects for the dubious pleasure of paying him 60 M is insane.
