What parts of his game, has a long way to go.
Play driving would be one. He is a -2.3% rel xGF and he also gets scored on more than scoring.

Added depth instead of Debrincat. Gained a 20 plus goal scorer in both Tarasenko and KubalikWe’ll see if it clicks. He wasn’t great for NY and purely as a stand-in for Debrincat this is a downgrade.
The team has a collection of very good to elite players but playing as a unit leaves a lot left to be desired.
The biggest fix to that issue would be a competent coach which most non Sens fans don't talk about or are not familiar with.
Embarrassing D that’s hilarious.Embarrassing d? Haha if the leafs had the sens d core they would actually be a contender. Samsonov and Woll what a tandem! Can't wait for that matthews 2 year 28 million contract extention. You'll have depth some day!
I am not sure but I think you are making this upVladdy screwed himself. Could’ve played for a contending Canes team for just as much money. Got greedy and overestimated his value in a very tight FA market and fired his agent just to end up in a lesser situation. The second time in 3 years he’s fired his agent. It just seems like he’s chasing money at this point in his career. Now he’s in the same position he was in at the beginning of last year. Sens fans better hope he gets off to a good start or he’ll check out. When he’s not scoring, he’s boarderline invisible, and it’s been rumored to rub his teammates and coaches the wrong way. Many reports out of St. Louis claim he’s been a frustration point and distraction in that locker room.
Sens lost a 26 goal scorer in Debrincat, plus a very poor defensive winger. Sens did not lose Debrincat, the 40 plus goal scorerNo one is saying dbc isn't a big loss, but he didn't have a good year here, so his loss will be minimized. And having tarasenko come in to score 20 or so goals and kubalik to come in and hopefully score 20 goals, will make that all the more easier to get by.
Chychrun we'll have to agree to disagree on. I love the player and hope he stays healthy.
Korpisalo, we'll see.
Having a healthy norris is much more important than debrincat, it's not even close. Norris is an excellent 2 way center.
So....we'll see if it all comes together.
Debrincat was not a 41 goal scorer with the Senators, not trying to replace that. He scored 26 goals and played horribly defensivelyYou're replacing a 41goal, PPG winger.
Tough thing to do... or are we only looking at the best season for Norris and not Debrincat?
Tarasenko is not who he used to be.
Kubalik is a big upgrade, but still a 3rd liner.
If you're trying to make your case that Ottawa has made a huge jump, you're not doing a good job.
Summer of Dorion 2.0
So are the Sens, not to mention their embarrassing D and goaltending.
In what way, 1 year is a better stop gap, than 4 years.Holy shit Dorion what are you doing?
It's the shock that we offered him 20 some odd million, I believe. In what way, 1 year is a better stop gap, than 4 years.
LOL.Average
Obviously he isn't the only one who is at fault. several other players fell below expectations. MVR looked completely lost. MacT replacing Monty was a huge disaster. berube looked frustrated and had no answers once things snowballed. ROR got old overnight. We never adequately replaced Perron. krug dealt with lingering injuries and was crap all year. logan brown. there were lots of misses and miscalculations by DA. But i absolutely believe that Tarasenko's dark mood cast a pall over the club and his uneven effort (as a supposed leader too) set terrible example for younger and lesser players. But of course. Tarasenko worked in tandem with Mark Van Ryn to cast a hex that made the Blues regress from a top 3 shooting% team in the modern era. It has nothing to do with the rest of the roster just not being all that good.
he publicly pouted when he wasn't named captain of the blues. the poster you quoted may be dramatizing it a bit, but this is a case of where there's smoke, there's fire. it's not made up, but the extent of it is fair to question.I am not sure but I think you are making this up
I’m a Sens fan but this is an absurd shortsell of Lindholm, McAvoy, Montour, and Sergachev.LOL.
Chabot Sanderson Chycrun Brannstrom Hamonic….
The top 5 alone is better than most of what the entire league has.
The Ottawa D is heavily underrated all because Talbot couldn’t stop anything last year when the team refused to give him the 5m+ per year he was begging for.
Their D is freaking better than Boston. It’s arguably said only Buffalo has a better D in the division.
Toronto o’reilly plus scraps.
Tampa Hedman plus scraps.
Florida even Ekblad is borderline scraps.
Boston average top 2 plus scraps.
Buffalo. Solid at the top.
Detroit better than last years top 4.
Montreal. One big f***ing mess.

Really it’s not. A lot of players typically generate the benefit of their D partners drastically more than others.I’m a Sens fan but this is an absurd shortsell of Lindholm, McAvoy, Montour, and Sergachev.
Are you sure? I think the Sens offer a better contract to keep him happy...They really only need to find around $1.2M in cap space for pinto.
There is no reason to think that Tarasenko suddenly brought down the locker room a full year after his trade request was out in the open with no issues. If it was an issue it would have affected the previous year.Obviously he obviously isn't the only one who is at fault. several other players fell below expectations. MVR looked completely lost.
