because, i swear, some fans said that he's a clutch playoff performer. He isn't the same type of guy anymore.
Its a PTO, lets see how he looks in camp. With the Sens cap crunch, it is likely he won't get a contract unless he beats out some of the younger bottom six forwards. Saying that, he's a veteran leader that can be valuable for a young Sens forward group.

Yes but at the same time he's turnover prone and has looked incredibly weak as a skater

Bailey is a good pickup for a rebuilding club. He can still play, he's just slower (he was already a pretty slow skater). His IQ hasn't faded. Still has decent hands, and still loves to pass instead of shooting at wide open nets.

Put him with a grinder and some skill, he'll be fine in the bottom 6.

It pushes Pinto and Kubalik down the lineup. Unless someone leaves the team, (DeBrincat -> Kubalik) adding to the top 6 still creates depth. Grieg played 20 games and should grow into a bigger role.

Greig-Pinto-Kubalik
Sokolov-Kastelic-Bailey/Kelly/McEwan

Is a lot more promising than

Brassard-Kastelic-Joseph
Watson-Gambrell-Kelly/Brown
2023-2024 Greig should be better than 2022-2023 Greig so if the roster remained the same as last year, that in and of itself increases the depth.

Let alone everything else you said that I agree with.

He is slow , hasn’t thrown a check in 5 years, and needs to be on a line with players better than him , might as well release him if it’s a 4th line spot

Well, that could easily happen, because he's on a PTO.

Where else would you play him if he's that bad?

Geez... people are acting like the Sens just gave him a $5m contract.

He's on a PTO, likely fighting for a spot as a 4th liner / 13th forward.

It’s Josh Bailey. According to how some Islanders fans speak of him, he’s the anti christ basically. It’s as if he caused every downfall in the world.

Neighbor said he was surprised with JB this morning, when he went to watch practice.
