This is the vet top 6 winger that I wanted the Sens to sign. He should fit in like a glove and will be given a bunch of PP time.

Dadonov is going to be close to his mid 30's when this contract is up. Can't blame him for going for the money. Likely the highest AAV he ever gets in his career.

That said, is it the best motivation to play your best hockey? Time will tell.

Good on Ottawa. That spot also helps with not rushing prospects to fill the spot.

Most of their prospects are ready for the NHL. Signing makes no sense. Will be gone when Ottawa is ready to contend and makes too much to be be traded.

I had hope Dadonov/Hoffman would sign for complete bargain prices but I guess not. This is still a great contract for Ottawa. Really needed a guy that brought his skill set and 3 years should be moderately riskless.

Surprising signing for sure. I am happy for Sens fans , good for them .
Does that mean that Hoffman stays in FLA ?
In my opinion Dadanov is the better player than Hoffman . Hoffman seems to me to need to have dynamic line mates to produce , and is more of a PP specialist and 5 on 5 play is not as good?


Sens are looking very good moving forward. In a couple years... very nice looking core and group of young kids.
