WTF? He didn't do anything.
This Tim Anderson suspension is shameful.
He got suspended for saying the n-word. The MLB is the "Why can't we say it?" league.
I agree. Whether it's a racially or sexually charged word, just don't use it in a professional setting. The danger is the other extreme using that as an excuse to use it. He sits a game. It's not the end of the world. If he said that, then it's not a surprise. Leagues have to take a zero tolerance policy with those just so they don't have to be the arbiter of who can say what and when.
And even if that's a word that someone thinks they can colloquially use doesn't mean it should be used in a work setting or with someone you only have a professional relationship with.

That's what has been reported, yes.I'm assuming he said it with an A at the end.
Any word on if he's appealing it, yet? I'm assuming he'll just serve it.
Is it not in the CBA? Then the MLBPA will appeal. That's what has been reported, yes.
And, no, it's not the league's place to decide this at all.

It’s much easier for the league to officially have a zero tolerance policy. If it wasn’t recorded or widely reported on, I’m surprised they enforced it.That's what has been reported, yes.

He's not appealing
It turns out to only be a ~$9000 fine for 1 game missed IF his $1.4mn base salary is correct. He's using it as an off day. He was due for one anyways.
Even Stroman is defending Anderson and both guys do (did) not like each other.
Ex Cub LaTroy Hawkins too.
I disagree with not being able to suspend people for language. They just have to be consistent with it.
Team ERA down to 4.35 after that horrendous start. It is about .96 the last 7 games.Hot damn, getting back to .500 before game twenty after our miserable start is pretty darn impressive.
Keep it up, Cubs.
So you are in the boat that Schwarber should've been suspended?
