for those who failed to read the article and just skipped to the movie...

From the article the OP posted:

With a fight already taking place in the corner, Keller’s Travis Hall (white guy in the corner) stood by and watched before being the victim of a blindside hit from Arlington Martin’s Jeff SoRelle (black guy who delivered the hit), who had left the penalty box in order to deliver the cheap shot. Luckily for Hall, SoRelle did not hit him squarely, but that wouldn’t mean the Arlington senior wouldn’t pay the price for his dirty hit.

While squaring off with another member of the opposition, SoRelle was sucker-punched by Keller’s Braxton Mills (kid who Chuck Norris'd SoRelle), leaving him unconscious on the ice with a broken jaw, which he is expected to have wired shut later this week.

From the article's standpoint, sounds like they're agreeing with the majority that SoRelle deserved to get something... just a bit more than he deserved maybe?

Kid had it coming. If you're going to take a run at an unsuspecting player with that speed you better take a look around. The extent of his injury is unfortunate, but the initial hit could have resulted in a much bigger injury.

If you leave the penalty box to throw a cheap shot like that you deserve a broken jaw. I don't even feel bad for him at all. If he hit Hall squarely he could have broken his neck.
