I saw the documentary on Sportsnet about Bobby's background and the issues with his father. The whole thing doesn't seem to be available but there's some footage below, and a story about it. It's amazing he made it given what he had to overcome. Moving surreptitiously to California, having his name changed. I didn't really know much about him, but he's a pretty impressive young man, for all his struggles. I hope he stays well and sober and enjoys his life.

He does have a very good (bad?) story, I'm not trying to take that away from him. I said he would win because I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he does win it.

I was half joking when I said it, but I honestly wouldnt be surprised if it happens. I also wouldnt be surprised if they give it to Oskar, either though. It got some pretty wide recognition with most teams we played around that time wearing the shirt, etc.

What an absolute monster!

I was fearful for his life and yet here he is, not even finished treatments and hes out there on the ice. Chemo is absolutely horrendous and just summoning the strength to eat, drink and sleep is hard for most people.

Gah I love this kid.

The idea that Oskar is probably going to make it back and be an important part of the Flyers' future is great news. However I'm most happy about him being able to beat the cancer and have a long, healthy future. There are those that haven't had that fortune. I wish nothing but the best for this man.
