yeah i saw that lol, i usually am not surprised by some claims and waiver clearances

but Stolarz is surprising that no other team saw value in him
It's not that there isn't value in him. It's that a team can only carry 2 goalies and taking a "project" as your backup causes other issues.

I caught a notation on Capfriendly that Alex Biega is on waivers. The notation says "Waivers non-roster". Does that mean he wasn't on the 23 player roster?

Link: CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

One possible explanation is that he was on Injured Reserve to start the season.

Close. Antoine Roussel was on IR and had been activated for yesterday’s game. Given he was a non roster player his activation gives the Canucks 24 players. So Biega was papered to be waived today

Does he play C in the NHL, he is listed as a C on hockeydb. Canucks lost 2 C yesterday, worth a shot maybe?
he played C a tiny bit for Columbus in 14-15 but never with Winnipeg or Chicago idk if he remember how but could probably transition if you are really in need but Granlund and Schaller are probably better back to C

Dano is a bust

His career at best will be that of an AHL/NHL tweener though his NHL chances will run out if he doesn't show something to warrant looks going forward

Also apparently badly misused by Columbus and Chicago. Maurice is basically the 3rd coach to give up on him.

Actually he was used properly in Columbus. And scored at a 60-70 point pace at 19 years old. He was the key piece back for a more proven scorer.

Nothing in his game suggests he is a 35-50 point player right now.

What suggests he is a 35-50 point player is his game and numbers right now. Because that's the rate he scores at. If he played 14-16 mins a game every game his pace was for easily a 35-50 point player, perhaps higher. Since Maurice has insisted on benching him he has only been a couple mins a game at best.

If one team was willing to spend a 7th round pick he wouldn’t have been placed on waivers. Everything happens for a reason.
