What suggests he is a 35-50 point player is his game and numbers right now. Because that's the rate he scores at. If he played 14-16 mins a game every game his pace was for easily a 35-50 point player, perhaps higher. Since Maurice has insisted on benching him he has only been a couple mins a game at best.

I’m annoyed that they gave up on him and will lose him for nothing when they could’ve just sent Lemieux down. But he put up 11 points in 38 games in his first year with us, and 3 points in 21 last year. Over a full 82 game schedule that’s 24 points and 12 points.

No. The contract doesn’t slide just because they send someone to the minors. It still counts towards the 50.

That for the roster limit not the contract limit. They designate a player as non-roster and they go on waivers the following day.

Not unless the waived player is picked up by another team, or the waiver is for contract termination (usually by mutual accord).
