Call me ignorant, but I actually think our 2-way forward depth isn't that great (Even with Backlund and Frolik). Calgary and Nashville, two elite blueline teams who's overall defense is hindered by 2-way forward depth.

Well, I won't call you ignorant. But I think Bennett, Backlund, Stajan, Frolik, Chiasson and Brouwer can all be considered two-way players. It would be nice if one or two of those guys had more to offer in terms of offensive tools to put the puck in the net. We do, of course, have young guys on the roster who will fill that need soon, but not this year.

We're lacking a true #1 LW and a #1 C. That's 2/3 of a legitimate first line and we lack a real game breaking talent other than Karlsson. We could always upgrade on Cody Ceci and push him down to the bottom pair but we have other holes that require more attention.

My ideas:
Package Brassard+White+Pick for a legitimate 1C.
Deal Cody Ceci+ for Chris Tanev.
Acquire a solid defensive #5.

TLDR: We lack two real first line players.
