I know Ferraro had a bad showing but to me the bigger concern is Simek. He really has not got better as the season has gone on. People here have him pencilled in for top-4 D minutes with Burns next year, but that will stink if Simek does not play better. I would rather play Ferraro with Burns than Simek given their play this year.

I think it's just people being overly optimistic. He didn't get to train much in the off-season and was busy with rehab. Wait until next year

Yeah. I don't follow the Cuda enough to know who we call up once Dillon is moved. Carrick, DeSimone and Middleton look like options right now. For next season, I am guessing we can add Gregoire (sign him to 2-way deal) and Merkley (wild-card) to that list as well.

I do expect Simek to get signed to a cheap-ish 2 year deal (1.25 M x 2) so that we can expose him at the expansion draft as a worst case scenario.

He is an RFA so they would need to qualify him, but I think the sharks are gonna have to decide how many bottom six centres they can keep at some point
