Really unfortunate Georgia is continuing with the process of naturalizing Russians for their national team. Not only does that not help them in the long term, they've had several issues with getting paperwork in order for the imports, which is further hampering any success.

And on the IIHF website. Currently listening to the most enthusiastic Dutch guy giving commentary on the Spain/Thailand game.
He was great haha

That's the fastest game speed a lot of the Thai players have ever seen. Good experience for them and glad they didn't get shut out

Still won 4-3 in the end.... with a 68-13 shot diffential

Some really wacky games in these qualification tournaments every cycle
Yes, and they were still down 2-3 with less than 1:30 to go. They equalized with the goalie pulled and then managed to win it with only 17 seconds to go in regulation.
Must have been a wild ending. Shows what is possible if your goalie has one of those games.

I have no idea why Bulgaria collapsed so hard, when they play level above South Africa. :/
Estonia also played signifanctly worse. I talked to some of the players and they said that it was difficult to motivate themselves for these kind of games. But also South-Africa's goaltender was amazing. I cant imagine what they were feeling after the 1st period.

I think that overall South-Africa had a really good tournament.

I think you are confused.
Some have said they at better than Sweden. Dunno who that was, but i’m sure he wasn’t kidding.

In all seriousness, Spanish hockey has been making some strides. I don’t think they’re bound for the elite division anytime soon, but they have been winning tournaments. If they could develop a serious league, they could turn into a solid consistent Division I country.

So this round is this week, into the weekend. Have teams been in a camp ahead of time?

Can't find much info out there. Most teams should have their best players available, barring injury.
