If Reinhart is taken in the expansion draft, Fayne could be the only guy with AHL experience.

I'd assume they'd sign Oesterle and one other AHL guy, then roll with potentially 3 rookies. But there may be a guy that's the odd man out that starts in the ECHL I would guess.

Erie looks way better than Seattle right now. Although they really started pouring it on during / after that PP. Eries PP is probably the most dangerous PP i've seen since the Rebels PP with RNH.

Bear has had strong gap control, been Seattle's best Defender for sure thus far.

Not the best play in his own zone there.

The Otters' forecheck is absolutely vicious to start this game though.

I don't think he really had any good choices though, he was kind of hemmed in 3 on 1. His forwards were cheating and he had pressure all over him. His team needed to support him and get an open outlet.

I thought his actual choices were fine if not the best he could have made.

I see it like this, for the most part. Feel like if he took that pass cleanly he could have hit the breakout, but he/it bobbled on the reception. He was calm though when pressed though and didn't follow up with a bad panic move.

I'm not a scout by any means but it looks like he might need to improve on his skating ala Reinhart. Some of his decision making is questionable as well. Cannon of a shot though

Not a great first opportunity on the PP for Bear there. He rubbed out Strome trying to get by him for a loose shorthanded puck against the boards. But then he flubbed two passes from the point going down low causing turnovers and a dangerous rush against that Bear took himself out of defending.

Pretty bad period for Bear. The Erie pressure got to him a few to many times. He needs to play with a bit more urgency. He made quite a few nice board plays though. Love seeing that.

I've watched Bear a ton that was one of the worst periods I've ever seen, especially that PP. Not common from him, not the norm. Also Erie is very good. He'll bounce back.

Just part of Bears game. He's not the fleetest of food. He makes some brain dead plays. High risk high reward game.

I don't think he's made any real brain dead plays. He's flubbed a couple pucks though.

Erie has done a good job keeping him in check. Seems like he doesn't get much ice and he's been a positive player for Seattle. Been pretty cool under a toooon of pressure. Played against that Debrincat / Strome line and they really didn't create much 5 on 5.

Erie does a good job having lots of guys around the puck. Hallmark of a well coached team; always have 5 guys in the picture, always have more guys on the puck than Seattle, and don't have real exploitable lanes.

Strome line didn't create much?

We must be watching different games.

I'm not going to criticize Bear. I grew up right beside him, I'm a fan of his. I just know he has a long way to go to make the show. I think he's going to struggle as aAHL player next year, but that's normal for a low pick. I'm just trying to temper people expectations.

We must be watching different games.

You have to consider how many chances these guys usually get. This is a line that scores 2.5 goals per game. They had maybe 3 good chances; indeed I thought top line wise Barzal's line was better. This is a line with 3 45 goal scorers if you pro-rate it.

Doesn't matter who is playing against them at D, they are going to generate 3-5 chances per period. Limiting them to that is a success. The NHL equivalent of this line is Messier-Gretzky-Kurri.

He does have a lot of way to go. He needs to be a little stronger on the puck and skate a little better. But I think a lot of people are over-projecting him anyway. This isn't a player you project to be a top pair guy at the NHL level. This is a guy who is a number 4 if absolutely EVERYTHING goes 100% right. His tool-kit is a #5/6 power play specialist who isn't a horrible liability. We're not talking about drew doughty here, we're talking about Tory Krug.

Pretty bad pivot and angle on the puck turned that 2 on 1 into a pure breakaway. To be fair though he was put in a really bad position.

This is the first time I've watched his game but I can't imagine he's having a particularly good one.

Yeah, usually he gets way more O-Zone time, but his team just been getting hammered so he;s stuck in his own zone.

They are being slaughtered in the face-off dot too.
