I dunno if you can get too wrapped up in shootout minutia... it's not really rocket science to skate down the ice and try to deke a goalie. I wouldn't say Nuge is a horrible choice... bad result last night, but I don't think his chances of scoring are a lot worse than most other Oilers.
If I were picking shooters... I'd likely go with Eberle #1 because he's got the best hands overall and a great backhand option to go to.
After that... well Yak, Nuge, Hall, Pouliot, Purcell, Drai etc... they are all pretty much even imo... depends a lot on luck and if they outguess the goalie.
Even Hendricks is a good choice... if he wasn't suspended... and of course McJesus if he wasn't injured.
