The team is pretty bad overall. Dumb as rocks moves most of the game. No idea what to do and no purpose moving the puck.

That does not excuse hard work.

Man you watch teams who are already locks for a playoff spot or watch Vancouver.

These guys physically HUSTLE. They fight for every board battle.

Oil are not even close to that work ethic.

Don’t hate the OP, hate the 90’s.

As odd as your taste in music is your recollection.

90's were a godsend to wit;

Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Soundgarden
Smashing Pumpkins
Radiohead
The Verve
Oasis
Beck
Faith No more
RHCP
Foo Fighters
House of Pain
White Stripes
Ministry
NIN
PJ Harvey
Sisters of Mercy
Jesus and Mary Chain

Plus this is hockey, and Canada. Who can forget the Tragically Hip? c'mon!

etc

All of which were original, had some jam.

It seems as if your music lacks in testosterone. ;)

people can feel free to add to this list but no boy bands...

I think some people are taking the musical choices here a little too seriously considering the entire GDT is made tongue-in-cheek.

Have some fun people, don't live life like @Drivesaitl ;)

BBO already got this covered. You've been drilled enough I guess this time. But its boy bands, you're evil. We have to watch the Oilers and then we come here for this...

my lord man, have some compassion!

damn..........i knew you were old but i didnt think you were THAT old

heh, oh yeah. There are some things that you can't listen to if you're older.

For instance if you grew up with the Ramones, Sex Pistols, the Clash, there was no way that Greenday was ever punk to you. Just no way.

Similarly if you grew up with 70's/80' ironic tongue in cheek bands and were older you couldn't get into Weezer. More than any band Weezer always seemed to be playing for highschools and maybe frats. Anybody older didn't get it, or in my case didn't want to. heh Plus that I've yet to find a person any age that liked Weezer for more than a few years.

I steer well clear of any hipster music. Jut can't stand any of it. Anything from Decemberists to Arcade Fire just makes me leap up and change the station. Don't even get me started on current millenium Hipster stuff like Lumineers and Mumford and Sons.

hope the music discussion is OK. Discussing the Oilers is painful currently.

Agreed. There's new wave rock that gets it though.

Early 90s music - Good
Late 90s music into early 2000s - God awful

But on the game tonight, I’m glad to see some consistency to the lineup. So sick of the Blendering, it didn’t work for MacT, it didn’t work for TMac, and it’s not working for Hitch. Forwards, PP units, defensive pairs need to develop chemistry, and you do that by learning how your line mates react in situations. In any case, it’s a moot point at this point of the year, chemistry development ain’t happening.

Also, has Lucic or Brodziak looked as good as they did when the Identity Line was put together? Nope. No blendering helped them, we had an effective line there that we threw away for knee jerk fixes hoping and praying line combos would solve a lack of offensive skill on this team.

90's were the dark ages of music.

Yep, and dark ages for clothing and hair style, I fell into some regrettable trends myself as a youth in that era. Crazy hair, weird clothes, 4 ear piercings.
It was a Golden Age of sports though and sitcoms.

Stone Temple Pilots
Live
The Tea Party

90s was all about electronic (eurodance, trance etc), metal, hip hop and alt rock for me.

That said, BSB and N'Sync are like Beethoven compared to what qualifies as music in our current post music era. There are definitely solid musicians and artists out there but they've all been chased far underground.

Combined with our pseudo 1984 / A Brave New World / Idiocracy mashup of a world we live in, and last but not least ( :naughty: ) the sorry state of this hockey club, maybe this is purgatory.

/hipster rant

Yeah. Don't know how I forgot some of those. Its always hard making a list. Also so people know I didn't include Metallica because I see them more as 80's.

I particularly liked STP out of the above.

Gives me an excuse to pull this backtrack out of the catalog which was so autographical and painful in regards to Scott Weiland. you just knew at that point..

So many great tracks they did, but this one I can never forget;
