I doubt Abbotsford would want the Heat back. Stockton certainly doesn't after they ruined hockey here.
Surrey is talking about building a 10,000 seat arena.

Sad for local fans, but can't say that I'm surprised. Fully expecting the AHL to follow the NHL's rumored example if they make a Canada division next season.
AHL-wise, Abbotsford wouldn't accept anything other than Vancouver's affiliate.
Surrey just spent $52mil on an ice skating complex, unlikely they're going to drop money on an oversized arena.
Here's one version ... https://torontosun.com/sports/hockey/nhl/toronto-maple-leafs/simmons-pilot-covid-19-testing-program-could-see-all-toronto-teams-homeward-boundSaw a story somewhere that said there might be an end to the border being closed...instead of a 14 day quarentine, there is some type of advancement on a rapid test that could be used in airports. Thus eliminating the need for the 14 day period etc. Again can't remember where I saw it but it made reference to sports teams that would have to travel back and forth.
I'm not in the area to see that but this was posted on the Canucks boards about a new area

The 3 NHL teams are talking about moving their AHL affiliates (Bakersfield, Stockton and Utica) up North for the the 2020-21 season if the borders are still close.
The rumors are that there will be a canadian division next season.
I think all Canadian teams will have to do it
The old idiom: "It goes without saying ..." does not apply to social media.Considering the other 4 Canadien NHL teams already have their AHL affiliate in Canada, it's down to those three....
You left out the footnote for all those asterisks ...... This is what I would assume a probable 5 division layout would be:
Atlantic
*Bridgeport
*Charlotte
*Hartford
*Providence
*Springfield
*Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
North
*Binghamton
*Cleveland
*Hershey
*Lehigh Valley
*Rochester
*Syracuse
Central
*Chicago
*Grand Rapids
*Iowa
*Milwaukee
*Rockford
*Texas
Pacific
*Colorado
*Henderson
*Ontario
*San Diego
*San Jose
*Tucson
Canadian
*Belleville
*Bakersfield (Relocation by Edmonton)
*Laval
*Manitoba
*Toronto
*Stockton (Relocation by Calgary)
*Utica (Relocation by Vancouver)
Mostly because that would've required me to include (Coach's Decision), and I was too lazy. You left out the footnote for all those asterisks ...
* - DNP (Did Not Play)
Considering neither team would be playing in front of fans and there's no risk to the Blades' business I can see something being worked out between all the parties involved.FYI, Sasktel Center/Blades have a clause that doesn't allow any higher level hockey unless it's the NHL.
You clearly read too much.I recently read something where it said that all 3 of these teams probably are NOT moving to canada this season due to the cost of doing it.
Thanks...not sure if it was that exact story but it is basically the same as what I read.

You read well. Scott Howson confirmed in an interview with a Utica TV reporter today that all 3 Canadian NHL teams with US based AHL teams will keep them in the US this season.I recently read something where it said that all 3 of these teams probably are NOT moving to canada this season due to the cost of doing it.
