12. I don’t think it ever got to Erik Karlsson, but I do think the Oilers and Sharks had legit conversations about the revitalized defender.
Foegele and Pulijarvi are deadweight, and I'm not even sure of Barrie's value. Those picks are likely to be quite low in the first; seems like the Sharks need another good asset coming back. On top of that, it seems like taking Yamamoto back would be a no-brainer? Big contract, doesn't seem to be finding his game in Edmonton (granted, I'm just stat-watching).Barrie (4.5M)
Pulju (3M)
Foegele (2.75M)

I think that should be enough to free the Sharks of the bulk of that contract. They dumped Brent Burns for nothing and retained 2.7M in comparison
I'd do it. I wanna see a D man clear 110 points in a seasonOK

How many points would Mcdavid get if he played this full season on defence...I'd do it. I wanna see a D man clear 110 points in a season
Karlsson inIt's virtually impossible to think of a way to make any such deal work cap wise.
The Oilers had interest in Klingberg in the summer and interest in Karlsson as well apparently. It's perplexing with Barrie and Bouchard already on the roster lol.

Ok. Sit with that contract for years to come. Be my guest. No 1st rounders for you then.WOW!
What an absolute pile of trash for an elite dman.
Are you going to give NYR 2x 1st rounders for Karlsson?Ok. Sit with that contract for years to come. Be my guest. No 1st rounders for you then.
Which elite dman are you referring to?WOW!

You’re kinda right… but those contracts expire after next season. Does that line up with San Jose’s rebuild? They will at least help you get a better draft positionFoegele and Pulijarvi are deadweight, and I'm not even sure of Barrie's value. He already does look like a modern day Paul CoffeyThe Sharks would have to take Barrie and a couple of bad contracts (Pulju, Foegele) to make it work. Plus retain on Karlsson. Long-shot, don't see it working.
It would be interesting to see how many points Karlsson would rack up feeding McDrai & Co. and with Nurse eating the toughest defending minutes. He would look like a modern-day Paul Coffey
Sharks are at 50 contracts so they'd have to add one going the other way like a Jeffrey Viel. That along with putting Kunin on LTIR should give them enough space to make the deal happen.OK
