Things that Hitchcock has already learned:
His top line is good
Koskinen is his starter
His third pairing sucks total ass
He's probably not going to get many PPs

He basically only has one really reliable defender (Russell) and one guy who is mostly good (Klefbom). The rest range from inconsistent (Larsson) to terrible (Benning).

Obviously Hitch can't take credit for the McD and Drai show, but I will say this - he showed more game management in his first 60 than TMac showed in his entire tenure.

Putting Looch-Brodz-Kass together looks brilliant initially. All 3 looked very comfortable together. Let's hope it continues.

San Jose is a good team so I'll let some dman sloppiness slide. Different looking aggression level so far. Annnnd San Jose gets away with Everything as usual

some good things tonight. better and smarter effort. much better energy on forecheck and backcheck in general. better effort in puck battles. better on ice communication. better at taking away chances or time and space in front of own net.

For him a save is a save. A goal is a goal. He is like....incredibly poised.

he’s been great at making the key saves. Poised for sure. Talbot would have already been pulled had he been in net.

Need someone smarter than me (not hard ;)) to analyze Hitch’s deployment tonight.
