Can a #1 overall not create ANYTHING on any line, he has had other line mates and it doesn't seem to matter.

72% offensive zone starts with primarily Draisaitl who was defensively sheltered. With Lander, the third line is converted to a defensive zone assignment line, so Yakupov gets low off. zone starts. Checkout natural stat trick to see the numbers.

And can we please drop the whole 1st overall narrative crap. This team and its fans are so obsessed with draft positions that it prevents them from properly assessing and developing its players due to pre-convinced expectations based on draft order. Just because Yakupov was drafted 1st overall, it doesn't mean he is prepared to carry a line on his own. Just like how RNH is not prepared to centre a 1st line in the western conference is his rookie season because he was a 1st overall.
