Glad Abby is backAbby Chin returning to NBC Sports Boston | Boston.com
NBC Sports Boston’s Celtics coverage team has undergone several changes since the start of last season. But a familiar face is returning for the new season.
Abby Chin is returning to the network as the host of its Celtics pregame and postgame coverage, the network will announce Monday. She will be in the role when the Celtics open the preseason Tuesday night against the Sixers.
Chin originally joined NBC Sports Boston as the Celtics’ sideline reporter in the 2013-14 season and quickly became a popular figure among fans and viewers. But in August, when NBC Sports Boston’s parent company, NBCUniversal, slashed its digital and regional cable staffs, she was among 20 people laid off at NBC Sports Boston.
Milbury out as NBC hockey analyst after 14 years
NBC's broadcast lineup features other tweaks in 2021. Mike "Doc" Emrick, the preeminent voice for NHL games on NBC and NBC Sports for 15 years, announced his retirement in October. Kenny Albert, Brendan Burke and John Forslund were all named on the top billing for play-by-play roles in Emrick's absence.
The network also announced it was bringing in out-of-work coach Mike Babcock and retired NHL veterans Ryan Callahan and Dominic Moore to contribute to studio coverage.
I liked Moore as a Bruin, hope he does well in the studio.Milbury out as NBC hockey analyst after 14 years

I'm with you on Babcock. My guess is he'll replace Milbury's brand of old school, out of touch energy, and won't last very long. NBC seems committed to having a grumpy guy on the broadcast, maybe to make their other hosts seem more personable by comparison.I have little respect for Babcock or his insights. I could do without him, personally.
Couldn't stand him. No emotion at all. Like he was sitting by the fire with a scotch and cigar. Just awful.Milbury out as NBC hockey analyst after 14 years
