Fix-Wolanski's goal was the goal of the year, at least the best one I've seen. Loved the planned dance routine in the stands before the game, and the kids near us were awesome. Great finish and great game. So much fun today. :handclap:

Tomorrow is the Oil Kings annual Hockey Hooky where the arena will be filled with students . I have gone 3 of the last 4 years with my classes, and for many of the kids this will be their first time going to the new rink.

But they have nothing to do with each other.

Disagree. They're local hockey teams that have many fans and we'd like to discuss them both. Either that or have a separate Golden Bears thread. Maybe not this season which is almost over, but for next year. It'd sort of be a miscellaneous-hockey-teams thread - other hockey teams in town kind of thing. I'd like to discuss the Bears exciting OT win last night but there is no place to really do that.

Exciting win tonight by the boys to close out a very tough season. Two goals with Dea pulled late in the third, then the winner in OT on a breakaway. Third sellout of the year as well. Next year will be better, solid but very young talent base in place.

Hell of a game tonight. I got asked to come at the very last second after a friend of a friend had to back out, and I'm so glad I went.

Next year is looking decent, lots of young talent to work with and build a new contender.

Random but thought id post in here. Looking at Bears stats and discovered Oil Kings had lowest PDO in the WHL at 96. havent watched them this year (honestly dont even know where they finished) but that low of a PDO could mean a bounce back next year :duuno:

^The lottery was won by Prince Albejrt and they moved up from 3rd to first overall. The Oil Kings will pick 4th.

I guess the Oilers' draft-lottery luck doesn't carry over to the junior team.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have a big bounce back next year. A lot of the games I went to this year seemed to be really close, but they just couldn't get the bounce they needed to get the W. It'll be key for them to pick up a high end import, with that and some key guys being a year older I could absolutely see them back in the hunt for a home ice seed in the playoffs.
