That's 150,000 worth of almost no ones who showed up and bet a record $4.1 million for one race.

Take away the alcohol and society pages photographers and most of them would not show up.

So it’s really hardly anyone cares about the mint julep.

That $4.1 million was just at the track for that one race via the betting windows. Couldn’t begin to fathom what was bet off site. I’d heard the owner of the horse from Japan bet $10 million to see his horse finish dead last.
