Also should be noted that everyone's favorite goon Trevor Gillies returned to the ADK Flames lineup tonight.

Scoring
1. ADK Wolf, (3) (Vause, Wotherspoon), 0:13
2. SYR Witkowski, (1) (Richard, Kunyk), 17:42
2. ADK Vause, (1) (Poirier, Wolf), 19:58
3. ADK Reid, (2) (Cundari), 11:56 (PP)
3. ADK Poirier, (4) (Cundari, Reid), 16:56 (PP)

Wolf now has 7 points. After 1 point in his first 5 games he has 6 in his last 9. Noticing a bit difference in his shot totals too, his is averaging per game more than double the shots.
Poirier has 9 points (4+5) in 8 games.
Cundari is finally picking it up. He was pointless in his first 5 games and now has 5 assists in his last 4 games (2 multi-point outings).

Quite the streak going now.

We're probably the hottest team in the AHL right now; Ortio finally seems to be settling in after a tough start to the year, he's had four or five decent starts in a row now. Interesting to note how the A-Flames don't seem to be fazed by top guys being rotated in and out of the lineup.. Granlund, Ferland, Reinhart, Baertschi and now Knight have all been called up at some point and yet, they just keep on rolling. Wolf and Van Brabant have been pretty solid, just a good group of forwards in general. Hope they can keep it going.. :yo:

Hanowski and Arnold keep rolling with 1st period goals tonight, ADK up 2-0 after 20. Really impressed with Arnold's numbers so far, didn't expect this offence from a rookie projected to be a 4th liner at the NHL level.

I've probably only caught a handful of games (maybe 10?), but I always walked away impressed with his defensive game, and was presently surprised with his offensive toolset!

I think we have a very good 3rd liner!

When I look at guys like Bouma, Jooris, and potentially Arnold I get excited! They will be key bottom 6 players that you win with! The type of guys you want in the playoffs!

(of course these guys could develop into more than a bottom 6 player)

Either way, Go Arnold! Go Flames!

Question AF:

From the games you've watched this season does Hanowski look like he's improved his skating? I know that was an area of concern last season.

Arnold's goal was changed to Van Brabant. Still a great start for him, though.

He's been working on his skating regularly, last year it wasn't bad, but this year I think it is a bit better.

AF, a few CPers that watch Adirondack as well have said that Wotherspoon looks NHL ready and could easily slot in the Calgary Flames line up if they made room for him. What are your thoughts on Tyler?

Same as I would for any 2nd year pro. AHL time is better for development. I don't believe in rushing guys to the show. While Wotherspoon might be ready to step into a 5/6 role it is better for his development to be playing top pairing minutes in the AHL. Treliving is also big on keeping guys in the AHL until they are ready to be regular contributors and not just throw them in the NHL when they "don't look out of place". Honestly I would be fine with Wotherspoon spending a 3rd season in the AHL.

The stat that stick's out to me is the A-Flames are 2nd in Western Conference PIM's. That's always a good thing.

I think Arnold is the second-best centre in the system right now, behind Bennett. People say he doesn't have much of an offensive game and that he relied heavily on Gaudreau, but if that's true, why was he played on the same line with Gaudreau to start with?

I honestly think he could be a good second-line centre in the NHL just based off of his defensive instincts and his ability to play in all situations, plus his offensive ability.

i could see arnold as a boyd gordon type guy. One of him or knight will be our 4C long term.

I'm sorry but Arnold is good but not better than Bennett, Granlund, Reinhart or Jankowski. He is #5 at best.
