LA Kings 2019 draft
5. Kirby Dach Saskatoon WHL C (#6 in early)
24. Jamieson Rees Sarnia OHL C (#48 in early)
33. Ilya Nikolayev Loko-Yaroslav MHL (#40 in early)
64. Billy Constantinou D Kingston OHL (#67 in early)
91. Graeme Clarke RW Ottawa OHL (#143 in early)
95. Rhett Pittlick LW Omaha USHL (#121 in early.)
123 .Martin Lang W Kamloops WHL
126. Semyon Chistyakov D Ufa MHL
157. Jayden Struble D Needham USHS-Prep
188. Cameron Rowe G USNTDP USHL

Overall happy with my draft, but I think that if I played my card better, it could've been a bit better. A lot of players I expected to fall/be under the radar went way earlier than I thought and I feel like I let some players drop that I should've picked up.

At #33 I got greedy and should've went with Knyazev (I did not want to select him again, as I did in the Early.) or Kolyonochok.
At #64 I should've went with Firstov or Teply.

I think that coming out of the draft with Kolyonock and Firstov/Teply would look better than Nikolayev and Constantinou.

At 91, I should've went Ethan Keppen. No excuses here, or at least at #95... Pitlick has high upside but I feel he could've fallen 30 more spots to 123.

I'm happy with the rest of my picks though.

In retrospect, I would've prefered
Dach
Rees (Or McMichael, Robertson, Hoglander.)
Kolyonochock
Firstov
Clarke
Keppen
Lang
Chistyakov
Rowe/Struble

But overall, I'm happy with this draft. There's some serious bust to boom power in there. At the end of the day, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Dach, Rees, Nikolayev, Rowe and Clarke make the NHL.

Vancouver selects Marcel Barinka from the Halifax Mooseheads.

Once slated to be a mid round pick, Barinka had a disappointing first season away from home in the QMJHL. During the Mooseheads playoff run, they opted to let Barinka join the U18 tournament in which Barinka put up a good showing and was a point per game for his country. If Barinka can improve his game next season to how he played in the U18, we believe this could be good value for a 7th round pick.

Vancouver Canucks Draft
1-10 - Peyton Krebs
2-40 - Mikko Kokkonen
3-71 - Drew Helleson
4-102 - Dmitri Sheshin
5-133 - Nolan Maier
6-156 - Danil Antropov
6-164 - Grant Silianoff
6-184 - Xaiver Parent
7-195 - Marcel Barinka

Thanks for another great mock!! Sorry I couldn’t be as quick and active as I would of liked this year, but it was fun none the less!!

Just realized my draft is over.

Anaheim:
9: Matthew Boldy
20: Bobby Brink
39: Daniil Misyul
101: Carter Berger
132: Nikola Pasic
163: Lukas Feuk
175: Simon Gnyp

I'm mostly happy with the first round. They were my two targets for the draft and I got them. I'm not a good draft strategist in general though, so I expect most of my players to go lower in the real world. I could see Gnyp not being drafted, but hes a tank and very skilled. He'll get a north american or KHL tryout at some point. I think I reached for Misyul, but his KHL playoffs were to impressive. I wish I had another second and a third. I really wanted Holmstrom and Johansson. Then there was Bjornfot that I've been following for over a year, Gutik and Ryan Johnson also intrigued me. In the first, three of my favorite players in thr draft went 15 to 17. Another pick at 21 and I'd have gone for Seider, who screams "NHLer". Aside from that, I wasn't too disapointed at the players I missed.

Second highest U20 scorer in the OJHL, Ciccolini showed flashes of high end skill and dynamic skating ability at the WJAC with Canada East. Not to mention he's a Michigan commit, which is always nice.

This is my last pick, not really happy with my draft when… Haven’t followed the last round too lazy to check who next on my list so I think I’ll pick the same guy I picked with my last pick in last year mock… "One of the most impressive Czech player in the Five Nations U-18 a year ago. He is an explosive skater, works hard and use his speed to separate, find seams and forecheck. His shot is coming along and is a dangerous player when on the ice in short-handed situations. Committed to the University of Connecticut."
#13: D, Victor Soderstrom
#54: C, Matvey Guskov
#69: D, Jackson LaCombe
#104: C, Oleg Zaitsev
#106: RW, Nando Eggenberger

And with that last pick, the Arizona :coyotes are done.

14) Arthur Kaliyev
45) Patrik Puistola
74) Adam Beckman
76) Leevi Aaltonen
107) Samuel Hlavaj
174) Iivari Rasanen
178) Alexei Tsyplakov
200) Sean Larochelle

The opposite of a safe draft but it was our objective : Bolster a relatively deep prospect pool by adding high-upside young athletes in our system, banking on the probability that at least a few reach their high-ceilings. Our organizational depth allows us to take some risks and seek game-breaking talent.

Edit : forgot about my #178 lmao. Accordingly, this one was the most obscure I made.

Thats a pretty good draft regardless of who was picked around.

Gotta envy the picks that Arizona has.

For sure. Especially since they pick just before the Habs at some spots.

As for your draft I think LA Kings are set now, huge talent infusion in their system.
Great job.
Except for Billy, that bust was MINE! Ill never forgive you

:avs selects, from the Soo Greyhounds, D Jacob LeGuerrier

@JeffreyLFC is up next with Pittsburgh.

4. Bowen Byram
16. Pavel Dorofeyev
47. Robert Mastrosimone
63. Maxim Cajkovic
78. Zac Jones
140. Xavier Simoneau
171. Cole Schwindt
202. Jacob LeGuerrier

Extremely happy with my first 6 picks. Robert will be on my 30/30 list, as I just can't see how his game doesn't translate to the NHL. Cajkovic has so much goal scoring talent, he really just needs to get a chance on a team that isn't horrible. Zac Jones shouldn't have been there at 78, full stop. Given that we have 3 5ths this year, I want us to draft Simoneau if he's available. There's one reason he's ranked so low, and if we have to take a Quebecker anyways, might as well take one with oodles of skill and some jam.

Loved Simoneau when I watched Drummondville in Gatineau. He disappeared at times, but he was probably the player I liked the most in the first period, then Lauzon took over. I'd definitely be on board with picking him in the 5th ;)

1 (11) - Alex Newhook, C
2 (41) - Tobias Bjornfot, D
3 (65) - Samuel Bolduc, D

Everyone says they are happy with their draft. I’ll be more honest - happy that I snagged the first 4 , and outside of that, looks like a lot of hopes and prayers. Will be fun to check up on some of these kids next year.

Big thanks to @Tomas Tatahhh for organizing and hosting the draft. Cheers!
