Other one is basically at 1000 posts so I thought id start it

Mod Edit: Bump. Remember, like the three parts from 2013-14, this is the safe zone (within the forum rules of course) for Sabres tank talk. Please try and keep that discussion here rather than across multiple threads with repeated snark, worries, or tangents. This also keeps from riling up the GDT with users cheering against the team. Conversely, if tank talk still irks or baffles you in 2014-15, resist your urge to tell these fans how backwards you think that is and simply ignore the thread. The needless bickering is avoided that way.

Hope that helps,
Woodhouse.

Buffalo pls, start losing more. I'm not telling you guys to lose as habs fan but as an NHL fan...Oilers management don't deserve McEichel more than you guys and select other teams (CLB, PHX, NJD, etc.)

Conveniently the habs play you guys in a home and home on Fri/Sat so losses now would be better than later ;)

I agree with you but the Suck Train has already boarded and left and now there's no stopping it to its final destination: McEichel Station (and hopefully the complete gutting of our management). The Lose is strong with us.

Goodie. 3 way tie for 30th and the Sabres are one win away from 27th place :handclap:

Buffalo Sabres are proud to select Strome/Barzal!

Seriously WHAT THE ****. 3 wins our first 18 games and a week later we are a point behind 27th. We shouldn't be biting our nails for Eichel. If the Sabres don't end up with Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel at the draft then this is the biggest blunder in franchise history and heads should ****ing roll. Makes me sick Edmonton will walk away with McDavid and Carolina probably Eichel.

Edmonton is a disaster. They need pivot help and goaltending.

Carolina hasn't been wealthy yet. Plus Semin has been AWFUL. guys getting paid 7 million to look like. A 4th liner (who doesn't check).

Columbus has talent, I don't get that one.

The Sabres can't score with any consistency.

Perhaps Murray should be trying to ship out decent goaltending to Edmonton for little while sending Carolina a medic and a motivational speaker, who speaks Russian.

Get with the program Nolan, lose, lose and lose again.

There is no excuse for Edmonton at all. Looking at what Garth did with the Isles, where were the Oilers. The Isles needed a goaltender, 2 defence and a couple veteran forwards. They go out and sign Grabovski, Kulemin, and trade picks for Halak, Leddy and Boychuk. They are now a force.

The Oilers needed the exact same pieces, could of had them for picks and came away with nothing. Pathetic. Until that franchise fires the front office, they are going to be bottom of the league for the next 10 years as well. Enough with picking up career backup goalies and 5th-6th defensemen and giving out important roles to 18 and 19 year old forwards.

I'm not sweating this one bit. After 40-50 games, if we don't have 30th more or less buttoned up, then I'll show slight concern. Jealousy or anger of the Oilers potentially getting the top pick doesn't enter into the concern at all. But some love the drama of hand wringing and over analyzing thru an 82 game season. Anyway you slice it, we are getting damn good/great prospects this summer. That is a win IMO. Better than just missing the playoffs. Those years suck.

Just need to keep playing Weber/Mez/Benoit and we'll be fine come draft day maybe separate Risto/Zad's and give each one a tank commander to carry the burder of.

If this were a war movie, you'd be the guy who cracks, screams "we're all gonna die here!@!@!!@@!" and then runs out from cover directly into an enemy tank. Don't get crushed by an enemy tank, buddy.

Thats a great point about the two D and goalie. Which makes the failure on MacTavish at the least if not all the way up to Katz. That is not poor drafting or bad luck, that sounds like an ownership problem.

Buffalo

30 - Edmonton (77 in 22 games)
29 - Columbus (76 in 21 games)
28 - Dallas (74 in 22 games)
27 - Colorado (73 in 23 games)
26 - Buffalo (72 in 22 games)

Buffalo has gotten great goaltending and is still only a few goals from last, where as Edmonton has gotten piss poor goaltending. Even the Isles with there horrendous goalie play last year was better than the Oiler have been so far. I definitely believe they'll be a bottom 5 team, but they should improve more as they get better goaltending. I'm really surprised they didn't try to get Harding or Markstrom when they went on waivers.

Columbus, as we all know, has been decimated by injury, and this total is a little inflated due to Bobrovsky being out. Bob being healthy now and playing will improve that number.

Am I worried now? Sure maybe a little, but I won't start being really concerned till the new year. If we haven't pulled away at least by 4-5 points, then I'll start getting worried.

But isn't it okay to run around yelling "the sky is falling, the sky is falling!" Then if it happens we get to be smug and say "I told you so!" and if it doesn't happen and we get McDavid or Eichel we can just ignore the fact that the sky didn't fall?

BECAUSE IT'S BUFFALO

Weber covers the puck in the crease while NSH is on the PK. Eberle stopped on the Penalty Shot by Rinne. OT continues.

Forsberg wins it in OT for NSH.

Edmonton outplayed one of the better teams in the WC but Rinne stole 2pts. At least the Oil got a point.
